My father along with 1000s of 1000s of post WW2 immigrants come to Australia they worked hard and literally built the country, these people are doing nothing just wanting hand outs and getting there extended family's over to multiply to spread there faith.
I have heard stories them saying not to have Xmas, Easter celebrations at schools, how dare they say that get rid of the lot of them send them back to there home country's
Very rare that the claims you mention are proven as fact; mostly unsupported far right BS. However, the 300 plus children in the survey by Criminal Research Institute of Lower Saxony, if proven, demonstrates the failure of the German authorities to provide integration and educational services for the children and their parents who come from very dysfunctional societies of war torn Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and so on. In addition weak, slow and piecemeal enaction of legislation by Western governments to crack down on Social Media platforms distributing extremist propaganda of all kinds should be rectified as a matter of urgency.

You have premier league footballers paying tax on 50 million a year and an Albanian family next to my mother claiming every benefit going.
This "net contribution" of a whole group is useless imo.
You may believe so, but data from HMG proves otherwise

Australian pension policy is simple in that if you do not own a residence in Australia and don't live in Aus but reside in Thailand, then your Australian pension will be taxed at 35% as un earned income. That totally killed my aspirations.
I believe you're misinformed. Oz Age Pension is payable in full, according to compliance criteria, whilst living in Thailand.

Immigrants from outside the EU countries made a net fiscal contribution of about £5.2 billion, thus paying into the system about 3% more than they took out. In contrast, over the same period, natives made an overall negative fiscal contribution of £616.5 billion.

The issues referenced in the OP have been ongoing for years yet Thai government keeps carrying on attracting ever more tourists without the improvements to the infrastructure required. Improvements that are made undergo repeated repair and maintenance - one can only assume due to issues created by the endemic corruption.
I have a house in Pattaya (in my wife's name) which we keep maintained in order she has a place to live near her family after I die. It's the only reason we regularly return to Pattaya as the traffic is appalling. I have to admit some of the environment has improved somewhat, such as beach cleanliness, over the years, but yet...

I was prescribed the drug for lower back pain caused by spinal stenosis. Stopped taking the drug due to concerns of dependence and mental health harm. Now take 10mg a day of Amitriptyline which is reasonably effective.

Spoken like a true Hamas apologist
Numerous political leaders and Western commentators have criticised Netanyahu and his far right choices for Cabinet; they do not equate to "Hamas apologists", nor does the member.

Strange how 10 of the UNRWA were sacked when evidence emerged that they were involved in the terror attack. And would they really need a UNRWA if they stopped building tunnels under hospitals and funnel their energies into agriculture and farming and the like, you know like the hard working Israelis did instead of thinking of ways to attack Israel.
If they can't help themselves why should anybody else fund the terrorists!
Personally I don't know how unarmed UNRWA can stop / refuse Hamas operations within their infrastructure. As we know change management is a top down initiated process. Accordingly UNRWA will require significant resources to manage cultural change as well as security provided by UN members which would need to be agreed by the Security Council. So far as I'm aware there is no third party organisation with sufficient human resources, together with acceptance by the Gazan population, to replace UNRWA. How will Hamas be leveraged from power as killing will not cease the ideology, plus one assumes the killing of civilians will leave a long collective memory of resentment against Israel and the West. A very long road ahead, perhaps decades for change management, finance and to re-build Gaza.

Usual cruel / moronic posts in this subject. An attempt to copy the Australia 'stop the boats' policy which cost a fortune per asylum seeker, the majority of whom were found to be legitimate and eventually resettled. One of the primary holding countries, PNG, eventually ruled via their Supreme Court the agreement was in fact contrary to international law. HMG appear to have gone totally over the top with wishing to enact law that deportees will be permanently relocated to Rwanda. Australian forced resettlement met with hostility in the recipient countries and deemed a failure.
The core issue is UN member countries refuse to accept and fund sufficient numbers thereby some countries currently housing refugees for twenty plus years e.g. Myanmar, Pakistan, Iran etc etc Often without access to education, sufficient healthcare and so on. A cruel world indeed which will please some members.

Indeed, America is going to suffer in the Middle East as it's support of israel while it oppresses Palestinians is likely being used by Iran to arm anyone that will expand the conflict in the Middle East against the US. Iran has probably been seeing how America is waging a proxy war in Ukraine and is learning the lessons of how to do it. I doubt the Iranians care any more how many Palestinians die than the US cares about how many Ukrainians die.
Although Off Topic I dispute your claim Ukraine is a proxy of the US in it's fight against Russia. You seem to ignore Russia invaded Ukraine without justification.

Talking about Iran, they are flooding the West Bank with weapons, they want to make it a new front after Gaza.
Iran Smuggles Arms to West Bank, Officials Say, to Foment Unrest With Israel
Iran is operating a clandestine smuggling route across the Middle East, employing intelligence operatives, militants and criminal gangs, to deliver weapons to Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to officials from the United States, Israel and Iran.
The goal, as described by three Iranian officials, is to foment unrest against Israel by flooding the enclave with as many weapons as it can.
The covert operation is now heightening concerns that Tehran is seeking to turn the West Bank into the next flashpoint in the long-simmering shadow war between Israel and Iran.https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/09/world/middleeast/iran-west-bank-weapons-smuggling.html
No surprise, long been forecast West Bank will erupt again after 50 years of occupation with no resolution in sight. I guess the Palestinian proxies will suffer major loss on life if or should I say, when, major escalation occurs. However, one assumes it will suit the current Israeli government land grab / Settler goals.

Thanks everyone. My reason for asking was that we had a water bill for 1,500 baht after being way for a few years. However, we did have the house walls cleaned with high pressure water house, some concrete mixing and so on. I'll see what happens with next bill.

From a safety point of view is it, do you think you are a target when you drive a car like that?
Yes, by professional criminal elements.

And?
Sometimes I see very expensive cars in Bangkok. Most of the time they are standing. And few times they are driven, slowly, mostly in the traffic.
A long time ago I drive a Porsche cabriolet for a weekend. 250 on the Autobahn and a little slower on other well maintained roads. Yes, it can be nice and fun under the right conditions. But in Thailand?
Something like this might be useful.
I've seen a few high value cars in Pattaya, but first time for a new RR. If I had that wealth I wouldn't be driving such a vehicle in Thailand - each to their own...

What would be the point of buying/owning a sports or premium car in Thailand, except that you can impress some people with that?
The roads are too bad for "normal" cars. For sports cars, which are low and have a floor which should not be damaged, it is worth.
Is an ordinary Toyota or something like that with a top speed of 200km/h not good enough for you?
Went to dinner last night in the back of Pattaya, there was a Rolls Royce SUV parked in the front; they cost approx 40 million baht. It was driven by a Chinese guy.

Of course he is, he can't lose! There are something like 1.5 million Muslims in London. Every Muslim will turn out and vote for Khan. That's a massive head start and makes it impossible for the other candidates to win.
It was a historic moment when a Muslim gained control of London, and they're not going to let that slip away.
One in eight Londoners were not registered to vote, Guess what happened, Sadiq ran a campaign to increase registered voters. BYW only roughly 15% of Londoners are Muslim.
Accordingly, if you're that concerned get organised.
Shouldn't UK police carry guns?

You will find the large majority of England and Welsh residents do not wish for generally armed police (militarisation of police).Scotland and NI have separate police forces. Compared to the USA, we have an extremely low rate of homicide and killing of police, killings by police, by ratio of population.
Armed police are relatively rare in the UK. Just 4% of the 142,526 officers in England and Wales are armed (compared to all 708,000 in the US). In England and Wales only 6,677 officers are authorised to carry firearms.
Of these, 2,500 are in the Met, Britain’s largest police service.
