  1. That's for the update OP..... TV never ceases to amaze me. What do you want op from this thread. Some people to back up your feelings?? What . I don't get it. You dont like Los anymore. Excellent. See yuh.

i think they are saying that the visa hassles are too much here and they are seriously considering moving to cambodia...

Thinking in Thailand ? , not much of that going about with those trying to stay on a whim.

  2. I really do wonder if the Moderators might consider setting up a Sub Forum on here for the people who have, in my opinion, a problem with Thailand.

In the sub forum, these people could moan & whinge to their hearts content, about Thailand.

I often find myself becoming exasperated with the complaints & petty observations about how "imperfect" Thailand is.

Because as we all know, our Country of origin is a Nirvana by comparison.......cheesy.gif

Perhaps if the Mods do set this up, there could be a small charge which would vary according to the Nationality of the moanee....a sort of dual pricing scheme? whistling.gif

    Only 1 option available.

  3. I for one would be interested to see other peoples feelings about this topic instead of the usual smartass replies. I've spent a long time in the Philippines and to be fair, Filipinos are in a completely different league. Go into a shop or restaurant and you will experience first class service and politeness, not some sullen face stuck in smart phone. I came to Thailand with a view to settle but I'm having second thoughts. I would welcome others experiences of Cambodia and Vietnam.

did you enjoy the Filipino food??

No, I don't like Filipino food but there are plenty of alternatives available. Don't misunderstand me, the Philippines has it's own challenges for the ex pat which is why I'd like to know more about others experiences in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

    Have you tried http://www.cambodiavisa.com ?

Buy yourself a maybe local and take the path.

  5. Straight out of the jungle.

At least he had the foresight to ask them their nationality before he started fighting back.

Thailand.. your people really suck to continue this "blind" way of blaming others...

Didn`t you read the last sentence:

Thanks to members of the public nearby, one of the men, Mr. Khern aged 18, was apprehended. He later told Police that the other two men were Mr. Wine and Mr. Nes, who are currently being sought by Police.

  6. Sam Austin ! Much be a new arabic surname.

Please keep your racist slur out of this thread!!bah.gif

The important point is that a young man died, and the reporting here seems to be very lacking, as does any information regarding where it happened and the circumstances. Almost as if there is a desire to keep it out the news.

Unfortunate that a thread about someone dying draws a racist remark. And an incorrect one too. The linked reports reveal the deceased mother's name, which is a common Indian first name.

    Nothing racist about by comment.

  7. It's very sad to see so much advice based on confrontation. Thais just don't do that in any situation, it's a wholly western attitude. Even sitting down to "have a chat" is confrontational to a Thai - and involves more loss of face. If you love your thai family you will work the marriage the Thai way, or take her to your home country where she will be the foreigner.

And so a guy is just supposed to say --- okay you stole 30,000 - 50,000 baht from me over time and oh mai pen rai -- I don't want you to lose face.... Are you for real ? Thai way -- she gets away with it? Thai way is stealing ?

I strongly doubt had she stole from her father or mother or grandmother it would be looked upon so much in the Thai way -- I bet it would be the highway...

Ahhhh GAWD ... I have heard it all ... Confrontation -- initially with the shock of it - a bit difficult to avoid... but secrets like stealing money again again is Embezzlement in the relationship...

    HEAD SHAKING IN AMAZEMENT ...

A Thai husband would have said nothing - no confrontation, no conversation. He'd just close the bank accounts, but the marriage would have survived for the sake of the kids.

How would a Thai husband close an account hidden in socks in the back of a wardrobe?

Douse himself in gasoline and flick a flint.

  8. My Thai wife told me years ago that it's not at all uncommon for a Thai father to have sex with his daughters, whether the girls were willing or not. She said everyone knows about it, but no one talks about it.

Did you ask your wife if she was raped and abused by her father when she was his young daughter ?

Didn't the poster say that his wife said "Everyone knows about it, but nobody talks about it." Would you asks your wife that? Would you introduce a elephant into your bedroom?

What has this got to do with my partner ? It was J1V's wife that told him and indeed he said "She said everyone knows about it, but no one talks about it."
