All of Thailand's political parties are packed with Thai-Chinese. Have a look at Puea Thai Cabinet group photos.Democrat Party, shut up, shut your mouths.
If I had things my way, I'd have senior members of the Democrat Party put in prison for ten years, with or without remarks regarding whatever referendum.
Bunch of Chinese-Thais, why don't you just go home to China ? We do actually know that you look the same as a load of Chinese people, even though nobody in Thailand dare say so.
Thai-Chinese are the ruling class whatever their political leanings.

I want to get to parts of the world that still have coral, as I think with the rising
temperatures of the oceans, as well as the continued pollution that is sent out to the
ocean from countries that are near the coral, will be the end of a lot of coral around the
world. I have been told by a few Australians as well, that some of the damage to the
Great Barrier Reef is caused by pollution, and not just the ocean heating up.
Geezer
Elevated sea temperature the primary cause according to these.

Was he wearing a helmet?
Dr Henry Marsh is probably England's # 1 neurosurgeon is also a keen cyclist - but he never wears a helmet because he says it's a waste of time
If he genuinely believes that it just goes to show that whilst being an idiot regards road safety he knows something about brain surgery.
I'd suggest he tries headbutting a kerb stone, first wearing a cycling helmet then without.

My wife's driver licence is for life, she never has to renew it.
Lifetime Thai drivers licence stopped being issued years ago although they remain valid.

Interesting phrase in the OP " must be completed ahead of the next general election, which MIGHT be held next year."
I hope that this is simply a "lost in translation" issue, but I have my doubts.
First thing that caught my eye too. So the election has gone from 2015, to beginning of 2016, middle of 2016, to end of 2016, first quarter of 2017, June 2017, 3rd quarter of 2017 and now ' might be held next year'.
Some might say a pattern is forming.

The lack of water will help with the oversupply.
You'd have thought so but where we are, just north of Kanchanaburi, every single pump available seems to be pumping water into the paddies.

One wonders why the risk of jeopardizing good relations with Cambodia was not considered before the 5 million was spent.

"The homemade cosmetic team are believed to have been out at the time of the raid."
Absolute clowns or thought they were on a drugs raid.

ASEAN running smoothly I see.

How the police involved in this sorry episode can hold their heads up with any sense of dignity is beyond me. Integrity and honour seems to be absolutely missing from their priorities.

???
Is this a "weekly edition" reporting the events of April 30 which were covered widely in a Pattaya thread from April 30.

Slow news week and it is a good pic. Bonus if the idiot in the minibus flooded the engine

'.....the high summer heat was suspected to trigger explosions.....'
Must have been at least 300 degrees in Suphan for that to happen.

APETLEY ---Referring to your post #802--- Keep thinking about the simplest design as you do.
Other than generous pipe sizes, there is one factor I forgot; the steeper the angle of the plate obviously augers better for the turnover of the tank contents. This is really the "thermal pressure pump" if you'll allow. This would give George some grief how to set it, he being right on the equator? Can you enlighten us please George? What is the best angle all year round for steeper (as suggested) solar hot water panels without a pump and indeed solar P/V panels when fixed all year round?
Hi. Years ago I came across an online book where a guy had constructed a simple box with a network of piping and as you say quite upright to get a better flow. As an aid to collecting sunlight he actually fitted an angled mirrored strip behind each pipe. I wish I'd kept the link but he said it worked very well.

When you're in a position to demand absolutely that 'these are the facts' then I guess anyone who publicly voiced their disagreement can be held for breaking the law. Scarey.

I wish I knew what this means.

Death by Custard???I will live a long healthy and fruitful life. My end will come either peacefully in my bed or at an event hopefully entertaining enough to make the front page.

I am absolutely no fan of the Junta but I'll give credit where it is due. Thailand has needed a long term plan to help mitigate it's endless annual water problems for many years and hopefully this will be the beginning of genuine relief.

Wonder if they are considering charging whoever leaked the video under the computer crimes act?
Unbelievable sometimes the crap that comes out of officials mouths without a thought or word for the victims.

I've always thought about using a heat exchanger like that but even simpler. How about one at ground level and using the thermosyphon effect, heat rises, to let the hot water rise into a hot water tank higher up in the house, no need for the pump then.
recirculating the water for best efficiency requires a pump.
Agree a pump is more efficient at recirculating the water but interested in just how a effective a minimalist solution may be. The temperature of water in a garden hose can be unpleasantly hot so here in the tropics I suspect a passive siphoning effect of the hot water could warm a tank reasonably quickly.
Interested to hear from anyone with a better knowledge of physics who can crunch some numbers on the subject
