  1. Amazing assumption that I was angry. I was having a quiet laugh to myself about it, at the time, maybe 7 years ago. Then again asean now seems more and more to be frequented by expats who just love to throw direct insults at other posters. Dare I say it's because they take themselves so seriously they just can't imagine that there might be some humour under the surface of some posts. What do you think?
  2. As soon as the typhoon air mass leaves open sea it starts to lose power as it is no longer being fed by the warm sea. All energy in the atmosphere is carried by water vapour. As it crosses land it starts losing that water vapour, (rain) the energy in the air mass drops and the wind starts to drop as well. Happens everywhere in the world. The mountains force the air mass up causing cooling and it starts to condense more water vapour and you get more rain and slower wind speeds.
  3. Ttlry reading what I posted. No cones were there, I parked where it was clear, when I came back cones had been placed front and back. Got it now??? So why would they key my vehicle? I drove away flattenning the cones. If they can run at 60 to 100kph for 200 kilometres they could have followed me home. Got it now?
  4. I did it once to annoy the idiot that put them there. According to you I am now condemed for the rest of my life. You need to relax a bit.
  5. I don't live in the area, I was stopped in a clear area for 10 minutes and came back to find the cones there, so, if they want to key my pick up they can drive 200 kilometres to find me and do it.
  6. If they keyed my pick up down the side it would be hard to see among the other scratches and dents.
  7. What's your choice if it's clear when you park and then find cones or chairs in front of and behind your car when you come back. Abandon your vehicle and get a taxi home?
  8. Parked my pick up and came back to find a traffic cone at the front and rear ( in line with the wheels) Reversed and flattened one then drove forward and flattened the other. Did check there was nothing inside them first.
  9. Could it cause problems if going to CW today, thinking about increased security in the area.
  10. It might not be the case everywhere but 'some' offices are asking to see an updated bank book when you go to pick up the final stamp ( about 30 days after initial application ). So it is 400,000 in the bank for 60 days. Make application and if approved return in around 30 days to get one year stamp and 'maybe' have to show 400,000 still in the bank. I was asked for it this week in Bangkok, first time it has happened.
  11. I started a thread today on this. At CW they asked to see my updated bank book when picking up the one year stamp. I always had it ready but this was the first time I've been asked.
  12. Was doing extensions in a different area before and always had the book ready but was never asked.
  13. Yes, final stamp. Wasn't asked for it on (first) final stamp last year. Should add the whole process was quite pleasant this year.
  14. Just for info. When getting the extension stamp today at CW was asked to show updated bank book, luckily had it handy.
