Bangkok set to be smoke free!....Yes, that's CIGARETTE smoke
overherebc replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I have this thought that even after they closed the smoking rooms in Swampy there was an outdoor area that allowed smoking but it cost about 1000 baht to get into it. Anyone else remember it? May have had something to do with business or first class, I'm not really sure. -

Yes Swampy had smoking rooms and areas. DM had an outdoor bar area where you could smoke as well. Singapore probably still has. -

New passport question.
overherebc replied to overherebc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That seems sensible but remember we are dealing with the uk government. -
You apply for a new uk passport and vfs send of all the docs. You are told you cannot use your old passport for travel. ( At the moment that seems to be a good few weeks) An emergency arises in uk and you need to go there. How do you get there with your old passport.? Decided on an edit. Who actually says 'you cannot travel', VFS or UK passport office. How would anyone know if you went to Vietnam or Malaysia say for a few days?

Can non-O dependent work legally?
overherebc replied to sussex's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you change to a non B don't forget that it will be tied to your job. You finish work and your Non B will be cancelled and you will be given 7 days to leave Thailand. Then you can re-start the process to get another visa or extension of stay. This gives you no time or makes it difficult to start any claims etc if you have been paid off etc wrongly. That's why employers push for a non B.
