I've used TW and recommended them on here, but this month's(on the 1st of July) transfer into my Bangkok Bank was interbank via SMART and not the usual ITT.
I emailed them and got a curt reply, basically this is their system and tough luck, but she did say she hopes I get my visa.
I do know how they work, doubled checked my PDF receipts and this month is showing K Bank(on page 2)as their Banking partner and not Bangkok Bank as all the previous transactions.
So I may have to change to K Bank, but I've no idea if this month's bimp will screw my visa ?.
Worryingly, TW are stilling showing it as pending, but I've already moved it from my BBL account and said their having problems with transferring, that's an understatement !

This is from my UK Bank to my Bangkok Bank account each month via Transferwise and as you can see, it clearly states International transfer.Either TransferWise or DeeMoney is useless in certain situations. One does not do business in Thailand. Also Ubon Joe mentioned something about only needing to show a few months of deposits to qualify for an extension of stay. This is something that I can't seem to locate in all of the posts that I have printed out. Also, there's the issue someone mentioned of being "stuck" with the visa services if you use one this year. A "sticky" with this information all in one place would be most helpful. I am fighting to stay here, but I can't break my budget. Beginning next year, I would want to have all my income in Bangkok Bank every month or at least the 65 thousand baht required. Can someone post such a "sticky" to have this info in one place? I have a stack of print-outs that are just frustrating to sift through. Thanks to those who responded in a civil manner.
Hope this helps

I've used the Halifax and it took 3 working days for the first transfer, then usually 2, after that. But I now use Transferwise, cheaper(up to a certain amount), faster and you get the XE Currency's mid market rate and no fee to receive monies from aboard from your Thai Bank. First time 2 days and next day since then.

I've just used Transferwise for the first time, based on commets on here. Worked very well and took less than a day, got about 1,000b more compared to the usual method (UK Bank fee, then 500b receiving fee here). I have used Bangkok Bank in London before, what is the problem with them now?. I've set up 2 widows pension's to Thailand with them and will that cause any problems?. Thanks

Does anyone know if a licence is required for Rivers as well?, If so. How difficult is it for a foreigner to obtain one?.

I didn't use the 2nd entree on my double Tourist visa last year, when I entered on a visa exempt for a quick trip. No problems when I returned and used the 2nd part a few months later.

I assume you mean the British State pension?, a friend of mine got a 12 month ME O last month from the Thai Embassy in London and he's only 58. He applied for a METV, but when he got the receipt back it has been changed to a ME O and that's exactly what he received the next day.
Probably a mistake, but a very lucky one for him, unless they've changed policy again?. -

No way I'm going down to London to find out!!!
My friend(73 and drawing his state pension)gets his by post from the Thai Embassy every year, so he doesn't have to deal with any immigration offices here.
Just got his most recent one last month, only took a few days, but allow for a week.

Thank you Gents, finding the online application a pain as well.

Has anyone recently used VFS service,we'll in the process of applying but are undecided if paper or via online. VFS of course advise using them,we just want the fastest route, currently saying 12 days online. No comment from VFS on timing, not we got an UK visa within a week.

Hi, Gweiloman,
Sorry for late response but would like to say we certainly appreciate your post.
No trade in's but being an already Quik-Fire customer I'll bet there would be a discount for you if someday you may be interested in a new 4 burner Super Deluxe. How about that?
Best wishes,
Doc
Dear Doc,
Thanks for your generous offer but as my unit is still functioning perfectly, I couldn't possibly justify (to my other half) a new purchase for the time being
If however I should purchase a new grill, you can be sure it will be one of yours!
Useless you sell it and upgrade?.

Can somebody confirm, with something besides what somebody said to somebody at CW, that SETV, double-entry and triple-entry tourist visas will all be discontinued after13 NOV in conjunction with the new METV? When I first heard about the METV, I sort of suspected this was actually the real agenda, but as of late last month at least two Honorary Consulates I know of had absolutely no awareness of the discontinuation of the old TV options, just the new METV. (Of course triple-entries have been getting harder & harder to get in recent years, and in some places even the double-entry hasn't been possible.)
Not a huge deal for me one way or the other. Just wondering if there's anything official.
From what I've see in here and in the UK Thai Embassy site, you can still get the Single tourist visa after the 13th,but not the double or triple. I use the double from the UK,but not now

Here in Kanchanaburi about 2 weeks ago,Immigration Police were stopping farangs walking down the main tourist street and asking for ID etc. They also filmed themselves doing so,I carry a laminated copy of my passport photo page and visa stamp on the back.

Thanks again.MAZ3, on 21 Oct 2015 - 19:56, said:
The only question left is if I wanted to take her back in the summer of 2016 for 3 months, when does the 6 month maximum per year start from?. A Calendar year or a rolling year?,we won't fall foul of this rule, just curious.
It's a rolling six months in any twelve, so if she's been in the UK for six weeks this summer and for a couple of weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, she should be fine next summer.
There is a slight caveat to her proposed application next summer though, each application is considered on its own merit, so whilst her previous travel history should go in her favour if she intends to apply for a holiday of a three month duration she will need to satisfy the ECO that it's a genuine holiday and she's not using a visit visa to circumnavigate the settlement route, if she has employment she will need to prove that an employer will grant a three month holiday.
Whilst I agree with 7by7's point about mentioning the second trip in any future application, explaining changes of travel plans are more relevant when a person indicates in their initial application that they want to visit the UK for a couple of weeks and then stay for a few months, that can cause an ECO to doubt the credibility of any stated reasons to return.
My partner has a longer term visa, she applied for this on the grounds that she would be visiting the UK regularly over an extended period, though she only gave details of the initial trip covered by that application.
That may be the way to go,this is her 2nd tourist visa and a longer term visa would be more suited to our plans.
2/3 months in our summer and Christmas/New Year, without exceeding the 6 month rule.
Any difficulty with obtaining a longer term visa over a normal tourist visa?,apart from the employment issue(she, works with her parents,so no problem there).
Cheers

The UK Thai Embassy and Consulates issue a Double tourist visa with 6 months validity and I believe some others do as well, hope they keep the Double after METV.

Thank you Gents, and your sensible advice.
I plan then to take her back for Christmas and return by the New Year and explain why in the next application(which will be our 3rd tourist visa),we've been together 4 years.
The only question left is if I wanted to take her back in the summer of 2016 for 3 months, when does the 6 month maximum per year start from?. A Calendar year or a rolling year?,we won't fall foul of this rule, just curious.
Again many thanks

In theory yes,but I know personally of a Lady who asked for 2/3 months, but then stayed the full 6 months and then got refused another visa because she didn't adhere to the requested and granted time period. If she has a 6 month multiple-entry visa - she's free to come and go throughout the 6 months.
But I hope your right
-
My girlfriend has a multi entry 6 month UK tourist visa valid until Feb 2016 and completed her requested trip(6 weeks)in Sept.
I know problems can happen if you don't comply with the requested trip length, but how can we request a further trip(Christmas/New Year)on this visa?.
I've been trying to contact someone but its difficult to find out any information and we don't want her to be refused entry or cause any problems for future visas etc.
Thanks for any sensible advice.

That's why I emailed Hull, but their in the dark as much as us.Just got a reply from the Thai Consulate in Hull and no information from the Thai Embassy in London,Hull stated they will continue to issue single, double and triple Tourist visas until advised otherwise by London.
I and some of my friends use these to have 2/3 months in the LOS and have the same time back in the UK and then use the 2nd one before it expires.
Very handy and we don't work or live here, the METV would be twice the price and overkill.
Just hope they keep them available after Nov the 13th.
You can be assured that current Tourist Visa options will be available up to and including 12/11/2015
After that the situation remains unclear but some European Thai Embassy's have stated that 2-3 entry visas will not be available after 12/11/2015
We all know how requirements can vary from Region to region,I might have to pop back home and get another double TV just in case and worry about next year later.
Hull, once known as a "friendly" Consulate, is not the best of places to seek reliable information.
Double entry TV's are still available from Vientiane.
Yes,but unfortunately not valid for 6 month's with a long trip and expense to get.
If they did remove the double and triple,I could get singles, but a lot of pages used. It just suits me fine as is,but things do and will change.

We when on the 17th of July at 1130,she saw the kiosk downstairs. They gave her a queue ticket,up to the 28th floor and waited about 30 minutes. Total time about a hour, not too bad. We got a Visitor visa 2 years ago,but you can't track the process anymore. Only sign up to SMS,we got a SMS later that day, saying her application was at the Embassy. Still waiting for more news. Good luck.

Very good point, I have a K Bank account already and will send myself a small amount to test the codes and email TW to confirm if the change is permanent or not, but she did say at TW, this is the ongoing system
