  1. Hi

Got a condo booked for family, just recieved an email form the rental place, saying they were just informed today from the revenue department that the government now requires to charge 7% VAT TAX at time of check in.

So it looks like anyone who rents a condo out they will be looking for their 7% share.

  2. As mentioned, a little clarity will go a long way.

My apologies, the post was a bit rushed, every time I put my bum on the computer chair I always seem to get called away, and yes it happened again doing this post, 3 bloody times.

What I meant to say was it would be nice if photos had a brief description like the seem to do in the Nature posts.

    Please bear with me thanks.

  3. A government crackdown on state pensions awarded to the non-working spouses of British expats has left stay-at-home mothers concerned.

One woman who left Britain with her husband and had children abroad complained that she – and others in her position – will be unfairly penalised.

Under current rules, the wife or husband of a British expat can receive a state pension even if they have never set foot in the UK. The benefit is known as the married person’s allowance, and is given to a spouse based on their partner’s National Insurance contributions.

The perk allowed British expats to marry overseas and secure a pension for their wife or husband even if that person has never worked in the UK or paid National Insurance.

But as more expats take advantage of the rule, including those marrying Thai brides, the government decided the system is unfair to British taxpayers and is scrapping it.
