Maybole
I am posting this in the Chiangmai forum rather than motoring because I need local knowledge rather than technical advice. My 8 year old car's Aircon is failing to cool adequately. Given its age it may just be low on gas. I want to try that first. My sister-in-law was ripped off by the main dealer who completely renewed the entire system for the same problem. I need a reliable Aircon specialist in the Nong Hoy area or near Pakhoi Tai on the outer ring road. Advice please
pgrahmm
I'd say ProAuto on Hang Dong road..... Went many times to a locally known & large "expert" (they run 2 outlets)....7 visits and many baht = still necessary to return every 4 months for yet more repairs.....Off the great highway.... One visit to ProAuto for less than 15% of what I'd spent at the other place & it's been flawless ever since....
mick220675
I do not live in Chiang Mai, but I used B-Quik in Buriram, they are nation wide. Buriram Isuzu told me I needed to spend 8000 baht to get my AC working, B-Quik re-gassed it in 5 minuets for 500 baht. Its been working perfect for a year now. elektrified
You're in luck. One of the best and most reasonably priced A/C repair shops is in Nong Hoi. Get there early (but not earlier than 9:15 ). and you may be the first in the queue. 053-140478, 081-9528439 O.K. I've tried to post the google map link 3 times and it gets rejected each time. I don't know why. Edited March 11, 2018 by elektrified

Saraphee
Yes, an excellent shop & not expensive - you do need to get there early, don't bother phoning just go there. It's also quite close to Plaza 89 so places to get coffee or eat are not far away.

I made the mistake of going there at 08:30 one time and he entire staff were still asleep on mats all over the place. The lady owner told me "not before 9:00 A.M.".
sfokevin
Is this the place?
elektrified
Yes to the above. It's a great shop. Many mini-vans from all over (hotels, golf courses, etc.) go there. The thing I like is that they never say "no, can't do" or "must buy new from factory" like so many more expensive places do. Those guys that work there can fabricate or re-build almost anything or any part, provided it is not rusted out or something. My wife always tips the guy that does the work 100 Baht and they really appreciate it and always go the extra mile to not only do an extra good job but get the car out quickly. They are VERY busy so this method assures getting the car back by the end of the day. Edited March 12, 2018 by elektrified

Better 8.30 and wait until wake up time than go at 9.30 and find yourself behind a forecourt full of tourist vans.
Maybole
I got to this workshop just after 9am and was attended to immediately, 25mins and 400ThB later my system was recharged to its great improvement. I am very satisfied. It was slightly difficult to find being on the oposite side of the road from that which I expexted. It is on the left side (East side) about 7 trees after the traffic lights at the Pollce Station when heading south on Hwy 106 Many thanks to all who replied.
