Election Commission will not encourage use of rubber stamp at polling booths

The Election Commission of Thailand has resolved that no acquisition of additional rubber stamps will be made for polling stations and election officials are no longer required to wear armbands.

Mrs. Pantipa Thongyai (พรรณทิพา ทองใย), Ratchaburi's Election Committee Director, revealed the Election Commission has revised the rules on usage of equipment in ballot marking and agreed to stop procurement of additional rubber stamps for polling stations.

However, the EC saw it necessary to keep a number of rubber stamps at polling sites just in case voters ask for them.

The EC meeting also agreed to cancel requirement for EC officials to wear armsbands, to save cost.

That should balance the budget. Will they also be selling the existing arm bands to raise money?

Are they the rubber stamps with the big X on them that Toxin/TRT bought in vast numbers at the last 2 elections?

Yes, the ones that allow throwing out ballots and make the new ones all look alike, easier to manipulate the votes. The last election also saw the appearance of paper ballot boxes when for some reason, the metal boxes used previously must have all rusted out within a year. :o

Pens were supplied. sometimes. It was funny to see Chamlong walk up to the booth, grabbed the pen that was supplied, out of ink! :D He had brought his own. :D
