June 13, 20188 yr Hello all, I have been here in Thailand for a few years now and my extension of stay expires in mid September. the last few times all the correct paperwork has been presented at Immigration and I have recieved an "Under Consideration" stamp, ie come back in 30 days. This year I have a need to leave the country around September 21st. for about a week impossible to change that date. Could some far more learned than I give me some advice as to my ability to travel while under consideration and what if any documents I may need. have a multi re-entry but that also expires the same date as the extension of stay. Thanks in positive anticipation. Cheers.
June 13, 20188 yr You can travel during the under consideration period, however, you should aim to be back in to Thailand for the report back to immigration date and you must get a NEW reentry permit for the under consideration period, you cannot use the existing reentry permit, as that is technically cancelled once you apply for the new extension. If you do not think that you will be back in to Thailand for the report back date, then you can ask the immigration officer to change the date to one where you will be back in the country, I just did this only in April this year with no issues. Alternatively, you could see if you can do the extension prior to travelling? Edited June 13, 20188 yr by Mattd

Yep. Will you have the conditions for application (financial, documents) ready in mid August? You can apply at least 30 days before expiry. With the consideration period you would have your new extension ready in mid September and then at the same time apply for a new re-entry permit which should be issued directly. Some offices will even allow application 45 days before expiry if you can present good reason. Edited June 13, 20188 yr by KhunBENQ
June 15, 20188 yr Author Thanks very much to you both, you have provided me with a couple of options to think about. Might try to get the extension done early and get the multi re-entry done on completion of the under consideration. Cheers and thanks again.

IO's diagram timeline marks ZERO day at the report-back-date (while under consideration) and then he shows the 46th day as the first day for applying for the 1 year extension (and 90 as 90 days after report back day). Thing is, the 90 day visa stamp is valid from 9 days prior to the report back day (when the 90 day application was made) to the 90th day. Tell me that she meant to say the 90 day period starts the day the visa is marked valid, and not the report back day ten days later? Also, it appears, am I right, that anytime from the 46th day until the 90th day is okay for applying for the extension, not that one should wait that long?
December 27, 20196 yr You can apply for the extension up to 30 day early or 45 days at some office up to the last day of your permit to stay if that is what you are asking about. No sure what you asking about for the under consideration period. The 30 day report back date on the under consideration period starts from the day you apply (or from the day your permit to stay ends at some offices). The under consideration stamp allows you to stay in the country until your extension is approved. The report back date does not end the under consideration period.
