Government denies claims mobile cabinet meeting aimed at wooing politicians

Kitti Cheevasittiyanon

BANGKOK, 14th July 2018 (NNT) - The government continues denying claims that an upcoming mobile Cabinet meeting will be aimed at inviting local politicians to join a new political party.

Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkumnerd, spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, said today that criticism of the planned mobile Cabinet meeting in Ubon Ratchathani and Amnat Charoen are not the first attack, which involved claims about an alleged attempt to woo politicians.

Lt. Gen. Sansern said that it has been a common practice of all governments to visit various areas and meet local residents in order to hear their opinions.

He stated that the planned trip is aimed at finding solutions to problems faced by the residents of Thailand and collecting information from local government agencies to help ensure the efficiency of all efforts to address problems.

The PM’s Office spokesman went on to say that while criticisms are inevitable, critics in political circles should still speak with an open mind when they want to say anything.
