When to get bank letter for visa extension using savings in Chiang Mai?

Can you get the letter the day before you go to Immigration or does it have to be on the actual day of your visit to Immigration?

The day before is fine. I think you would struggle to get the letter on the same day unless you can find a bank that opens at 5am.

Don't just get the letter, do a transaction that shows in the bank book as well.

Earlier this year when I went for my retirement extension, used the little agency top floor of the Prom.

 

My bank letter was dated 2 days prior. Agent took my stuff down to immigration, came back within 5 minutes and told me letter has to be dated same day as application. Had to go away, next day when bank opened obtained letter and went back to the agency again.

 

Have spoken with friends, they told me that their bank letters were dated a few days prior to application, no problems.

 

Who knows? Some they do, some they don`t. Just another shove towards having to use agents.

An update of the bank book should be fine. If you have an fixed account, you can't do transactions.

Often an update is not acceptable, simply do a small transaction and avoid any problems.

 

Even better,if you are early do a transaction the same day you do the extension through the ATM, a simple withdrawal and then update bank book through the ATM and copy at the photo shop.

I have never had a problem in the past

But have a new Bank Book Fixed Account now

So i will update my Bank Book

Before i ask for the Bank Letter

If they have a problem with that

I would ask to see the officer in charge

Because i am not sure what is going on here with Chiang Mai Immigration

Maybe the Officer from Bangkok has found a few problems

With the New Officer in Charge since April

Hopefully all this will get resolved

It is a pity we do not have The Government Immigration Act
