Thailand wins two prestigious awards at 8th World Puppet Carnival, Russia

Young Thai puppet art performers of Nataya Bangkok Club have won two prestigious awards – Best Traditional Show Award and Audience Award – in the 8th World Puppet Carnival in Yekaterinburg, Russia. 

 

Nataya Bangkok Club represented Thailand at the carnival which was held between Aug 13-18.

 

Den Mahalert, chairman of Nataya Bangkok Club, said the event featured the final round of competition participated by 50 teams, which were selected from 600 teams from all over the world.

It's a puppet award, how has this made the national news? Thailand also crashed out of the football at Asian Games in a group consisting of Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Qatar. Don't remember that acheivement being mentioned in the news.
