People will be able to meet medical specialists and get free check-ups and counselling at a health exposition in Chiang Mai province on September 21.

Organised by Chiang Mai University’s Sriphat Medical Centre the Sriphat Health Expo 2018 will run from 7am to 4pm at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

“Our aim is to remind people to take good care of their health and provide them with useful information,” the medical centre’s director Asst Professor Taninnit Leerapun said recently. The public will be provided free check-ups by the Ophthalmology, Cardiac and Orthopaedics clines as well as the Spine and the Gastrointestinal & Liver centres.

Specialists will also be at hand to provide counselling. According to Taninnit, the event will also showcase health innovations so people can be informed about what healthcare options are available. Among the innovations showcased will be pharmacy robots, a fundus-examination (pupil examination) device, air-puff thermometer and tools for different types of surgery. Several medical lecturers will also be present to deliver lectures and participate in academic seminars.Topics of discussion include osteoporosis, liver diseases, innovative methods of easing back pain, diabetes and heart attack .
