I've bought dozens of these balloon's by the school where my son goes, as events, the market.

Will be checking the bottles now, but that's not guaranteed.

I don't know what is more ignorant, filling a balloon with hydrogen or the following statement by an "official"

He said such accidents were common because hydrogen was so flammable

I've been filling up a balloon with hydrogen and then detonating it with a spark every year in basic chemistry class, in the hopes if scaring kids into being more cautious.  I'd like to think I've prevented at least a few kids from going to the ICU for burns.

I worked with bottled gasses as part of my job. The coding of the bottles in your graphic are way out of date, certainly for the UK.

Only helium should be used in balloons, but hydrogen is of course much cheaper due to its abundance.

Only pointing out the main bottle colour, red for H2.

Start adding in the shoulder colours just confuses the majority.

I've... never heard of this before.  Is using hydrogen in balloons a "thing" outside of Thailand?

Another thing to avoid in this country, then. Children's balloons. You couldn't make it up.
