A concept art of the new parliament, Sappaya-Sapasathan.

BANGKOK — A massive facility meant to host Thailand’s next parliament in five months appeared far from completion Thursday.

The future home of the legislature remains a jumble of scaffolding, unfinished walls and staircases, underscoring the fact the Sappaya-Sapasathan, as it is called, is far from complete despite government pledges the decade-long project would be done by June.

Well, isn't that symbolic? The 'Parliament' is not even ready yet - it is just a 'jumble' - a mess.

Says it all about the sincerity of the Thai 'election'.

The new one looks "fusion" !! Canberra mixed with a golden thai stupa!

Nice piece of real estate they got there.

Now we know why the election is being delayed. Why don't they just say so and we would all unserstand?

As an extract from the Full Story reads, at the new parliament site, 'Scaffolding covers many of the walls. One staircase stank of urine.'

Piss poor performance, I'd say, and on a stellar-like 20 BILLION BAHT scale, already over double the budgeted cost. Will this country of spendthrift parliaments ever be able to draw the line at 'let's settle for ordinary, until we become stellar' ?

What a welcome opportunity for the junta to grant themselves a few more decades in power:

"Despite the prime minister's ceaseless devout prayers to Phra Siamdevathiraj, the deity has so far not responded favorably to help speed up construction of the new parliament building. Judging from the current construction pace, we are therefore unfortunately compelled to delay the election to July 2043."

I looked at the heading quickly and thought they needed a Victa lawnmower?

The Junta and his cronies, must pop round to his house for thier meetings, as I thought the government have already moved out of the older building.

Well that is something Prayuth can point to as one of his accomplishments. Kind of representative of his tenure.
