Stormweather In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Next week I will be leaving towards Thailand (krabi) for a 14 day vacation period. I have looked at the forecasts and it seems it will be storming for 5 days (21/03 - 25/03). You can see the forecasts here.

What should I espect from these kinds of storms? Will it rain all day or can it clear up at times? Are inland (town, temples, ...) visits still possible with this weather or isnt it adviced to do so?

Thank you very much.

With kind regards,

Dieter.

Carry an umbrella with you and have a wonderful time.

Buy an umbrella here (cheap).

Forget your European notion of rainy days, grey, drizzly, 'orrible, here it hammers down for a few minutes at a time, sunny in between. You'll get wet even with the brolly but you dry out quickly in between.

The rain also tends to be warmer :o

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Last time I got soaked (Songkran aside) it was a Chang.

Nasty vindictive booger took a snootfull of water from the moat

and sprayed it all over me ... I guess cos I was the tallest in the crowd !

Naka.
