Featured Replies

Municipal police on Monday arrested a Chinese national suspected of murdering his pregnant lover and burning the corpse in Chroy Changva district on June 29. Major General Keng Sokun, deputy chief of the Interior Ministry’s penal department, yesterday identified the suspect as Kang Kang, 28, who was arrested in Russey Keo district, Tuol Sangke I commune after having been on the run since the day of the killing.

He noted that Mr Kang went back to China on July 6 and returned to the Kingdom recently. Maj Gen Sokun said that the victim Miao Xiaolin, was also a Chinese national and the suspect’s girlfriend, noting that she was murdered when she was eight weeks pregnant with their baby.

He said that during his interrogation, Mr Kang confessed to killing Ms Miao at a guesthouse in Daun Penh district by strangling her with a towel. Maj Gen Sokun said the suspect said he stuffed the corpse in a suitcase and drove it to Chroy Changva district where he burnt it.
