I was wondering whether a work permit would be required for a non-Thai person to undertake an internship with the company I work for? And similarly, would one be needed for someone on work experience?

Finally, we are looking at a work-experience exchange program where one of our employees would spend time working with an associated company in another part of the world, and someone from overseas would work with us - maybe just for a week or two. Does this require a work permit?

I think the answer will be yes to all three of these points but if anyone has any first-hand experience or information then I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Andy.

Yes they need a work permit. We have hired five Interns in the last two years. In all cases the school foot the bill. Three of the Interns have come back to Thailand after they graduated and are now full time employees.
