Hi

Im flying to Kuala Lumpur both for having a good time and at the same time I would like

to make a Tourist Visa. I would like to know if first do they even have a thai embassy there,

I already have one tourist visa and I would like to make a new one, shouldnt be a problem right ?

Anyone experieneced any problems with the embassy in Kuala Lumpur ?

If anyone can recommend a good hotel it would be appreciated and any good sites to go see.

I for sure want to go and see the two petrol towers or what they are called.

Any help is greatly appreciated :o

Cheers,

"the two petrol towers or "

Petronas towers actually :o

Yes there is a thai emabasy at KL. I went there just about 4 weeks ago, got a tourist vsia for my Lao friend, easy, you have to go in before 11.30 apply for the visa and you can collect your passport the next day (between 11.30 and 12.30).

Do check out the Menara KL tower, great views and because it is situated on a hill (bukit Nanas) you can almost look at the petronas towers top floors at the same level. Petronas towers by the way are only accessible for the public using the bridge between the two towers, get there early as the tickets are free, but they only give about 1500 of them daily, they are gone early morning.

When are you planing on doing this trip? Hope you're not coming this weekend, it's formula 1 grand prix time. :D

Never used the Thai embassy here but walked past it many times as it's on same drag as the British.

Closest hotels are the Crown Princess, SuCasa and MiCasa all about 15 - 20 minutes walk but not cheap around 150 - 250 Ringgit per night ( x 10 = Baht).

Cheaper hotels are in the area bounded by Jalans Bukit Bintang, Pudu and Sultan Ismail and mainly cater for Chinese visitors. I don't know any names, except the Federal, but believe rates are around 50 - 100 Ringgit per night.

You sound like you don't know KL very well but if you search the visas forum there have been quite a few threads on visa runs to KL.

You are coming here for a "good time" eh? Just be aware it is an Islamic state under sharia law with religeous police ensuring all women wear the burqa. :D:o No, just kidding and taking the p1ss out of other posters on TV. There is fun to be had in KL but it's not so in yer face as in Bangkok or Pattaya. There are a few bars/clubs on Jalan P. Ramlee and also in Jalan Doraisamy (AKA Asian Heritage Row). Bangsar and Hartamas are also nightlife areas worth a visit but located a little way out of town centre.

PM me if you want any specific details.

Yes actually im leaving this weekend and I thought it would be a piece of cake to find a hotel but now you got me scared. Everything is probably booked now....dooh im stupid. Well I was planning on spending between 1500-2000 baht on the hotel so thats alright.

By the way, by good time I dont mean hanging out in bars etc. Im going there with my girlfriend and we been looking into amusement parks, sightseeing etc.

So no bar stuff for us :D

Thanks for the info
