Wife and I are looking to retire in Thailand next year after I turn 50. We are coming from Australia and wondering if we both need the 800000 Baht / 65000 baht a month income each. At the moment our combined income (pension) is about 112000 baht per month.

Your wife can apply as your dependent and do not need to show any income... Wait for more detailed answers here..

Only one of you needs to apply for the extension of stay based upon retirement.

After they have the extension the other one can apply for an extension for being the spouse of the one that applied for the extension.
