A famous lawyer, Sakchai Meesomboon, succumbed to bullet wounds after a man broke into his house, fired multiple gunshots and fled on a motorcycle in Samut Sakhon province.

Banphaew Police Station in the province were called to investigate the shooting at a law firm/house of a victim in Laksam subdistrict while an emergency medical team from Banphaew Hospital also reached the scene.

Police found Sakchai, 55, lying with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and body. The victim was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.

The deceased’s 16-year-old son reportedly told police that his father was having dinner at the table when a gunman wearing a black motorcycle helmet and black jacket broke in and shot his father several times before fleeing on a grey Yamaha N Max motorcycle. Police also found six bullet casings of a .38 super gun scattered at the scene.

Police are investigating whether the hit could be related to a case that the deceased was working on.

Sakchai is famous for his role in many high-profile cases, including the swindling charge against Thanawat ‘Pete’ Kamhaengphol, who claimed that a lottery ticket from his shop had won a jackpot of Bt90 million, creating nationwide headlines in 2018.

It’s a Colt semi, might fire up to 10 shots.

A lot of guys use them in pistol competition.

There's the 'killer' clue, it's all about pistol competitions, solved.

Why is he famous I have never heard of him?

He's well known to many Thais because of the contraversial cases he's been involved in.

well its kind of a rare cartridge even among competition shooters and is generally found only in high end 1911 pistols. Its not easy to get a .38 Super anymore, they are expensive and the ammo is uncommon, although its still used a lot in competitions in the Phillipines. The Mexicans love them, like the one pictured above. In fact Colt specifically marketed them for Mexico. The reason they were sold in Mexico and the Phillipines is because in those two countries, where 1911s are popular, you cant own military calibers (9mm or .45) so they used the 38 Super.

They should check the bullet casings for prints... I doubt a Thai guy would be smart enough to wear gloves when loading the gun. This is why a normal revolver with a chamber is always better for such a job... or that is what a friend of a friend told me... lol

Grainy CCTV footage of the gunman arriving and fleeing on motorcycle.

This is what happens, when you mess with the Influential Elite..... sad, but true....

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Let's see if the cc tv's are working and they can follow the guy. They never found Ja New's perpetrator thugs even though it was said they knew who they were.
