Sophon Cable TV cooperated with Korean Cable TV by providing a new Internet service to Pattaya.

This agreement between two large companies; Sophon Cable TV and LS Cable Korea, which is included in LG Group, was announced to the public on 2nd April at 2 pm at the meeting room of Montien Hotel Pattaya.

Before Mr. Chanyut Hengtrakool, CEO of Sophon Cable TV and Mr. Dong Yong Kim, Deputy Senior Director of LS Cable Korea signed the contract; Mr. Kim switched on a presentation of his company and then explained the format of Hi Speed Internet service through Cable TV.

This LS-HFC High Speed Internet Service is to provide extra service to Sophon Cable TV members using the equipment and network. Members will be able to receive both Cable TV and hi speed internet at the same time.

The first 3 months is for free, after which there will be a monthly fee – still to be determined. Furthermore, subscribers will have the possibility to extend the number of TV programmes to 40 – 60 for a monthly fee also to be determined. To receive these additional programmes the subscriber needs a decoder, which will be provided by Sophon Cable TV. There is as well the intention to penetrate other areas around Pattaya as to where you can receive Sophon Cable TV.

lf it's as good as Sophon's TV service-l can't wait. That's to say, l will have to wait, as the service will collapse every 5 minutes, it will be slower than sending a letter and the quality will be appalling.

let look on the bright side it got to be better than ADSL from both TTT & TOT as well as wireless let give them a chance before we condem them another note one is from Korea which might be a great big blessing for us internet users

is it possible to get it WITHOUT the TV subscription? Living for 15 years without TV and think I can do that another 15 years...

Why?

Just because they are incompetent in many aspects of running an ISP (bandwidth management, customer service, billing, tech support, etc.) doesn't mean that others cannot match or exceed their ineptitude.

Maybe I'm just a realist pessimist.
