joinme2leave
just wondering...how do you (thailand living) fellas get your portion of sleep: * shoot the roosters? * have a sleeping pill every 2nd hour? * convert to Buddhism and do it the thai way: ignore the trucks/motorcycles? as for me - a future "thai" - it could be one of the bigger problems to solve... Axel
For my quite easy, watch for 10 min. UBC, if this is not sufficient change the channel to a Thai soap opera. It always does the trick, may be helped by a bit of amber liquid.

KevinN
Air-condition. Really works for me,but now I am addicted to the fan noise of the air con. Plus we got a Thai dog puppy and she was raised behind our 130 cm chain link with no Thai manners,so when the roosters of the neighbors fly over the fence,,she has a nice fresh chicken dinner, thinned out the roosters and saves on so much dog food too. Bluecat
Try drinking heavily. Does not work, Dave. You wake up in the middle of the night with you body in overdrive to get rid of the booze. Try to understand that not much is important in the very short life you're going to have, by "earth standards". Do not worry for things that you will have forgotten in a few weeks or months. Enjoy it, it's not going to last that long. And you'll sleep better. Easy to say, I guess, but can you do it?

Have you tried buying sleeping pills lately ? very hard , due to farangs being drugged they are not available from pharmacies . only major hospitals ... exercise so much that you are dog tired ? in the case of roosters you will have to leave town and live someplace else
camerata
Have you tried buying sleeping pills lately ? very hard , due to farangs being drugged they are not available from pharmacies . only major hospitals ... Well, the heavy stuff used to render unsuspecting travelers unconcious was not of the regular tranquilizer variety most people use to help them sleep. Valium and Xanax vanished from pharmacies because of Khun Sudarat's crusade to remove anything which might be abused (think "Social Order"). For a while, even the well-known decongestant Clarinase was banned because it didn't carry a warning that it might cause drowsiness.
