Untrue. There may be a lot less foreigners than usual in Thailand now, but only a tiny percentage of tourists ever go near an IO in normal times. Wongkitlo
I wonder how the embassies will react to this. I know USA has just been giving letters no questions asked but other Embassies have been checking applications. The Australian Ambassador claimed last week his staff were very busy doing extension letters. If I was an Ambassador I would be pretty annoyed when I found that it was all wasted time. I would reconsider going along with the letters for 30 days from now.

However, to answer your question (you did not specify which number you wanted) "Notification of the ministry of interior Re: Permission for certain types of aliens to stay in the kingdom in a special case (No2)" is the title of the document. the two commas (,,) were used to indicate order number. At first they weren't going to give letters then gave in. They say because they are in a foreign country they do not have the legislative power to certify anything. They aren't giving income letters for visas for the same reason.
Popular Post samisaurus
Canadian embassy wasnt giving out any letters. I left on the 25th. Currently sitting in Turkey. Wasnt going to wait for some amnesty to kick in that might never materialize. This was an important life lesson for me because im young.... but basically I learned dont invest anything into thailand and dont plan on moving there permanently in future. Many older members here have stated that and I've learned from their advice. I saw how the country can be backwards. Good to know before i bought any properties/got married there or any of that stuff. That being said im grateful for the extension over the few months and hope they open up soon for the sake of their own people as their economy is about to take a hit.

The actual headline, which was reported on Bangkok Post is “CCSA panel to approve visa scheme to allow foreign tourists into country”. Yes this meeting is chaired by Prayut and seeing that it’s chaired by him, how on earth can he do that in English. Anyone remember the tourists he tried to speak to in English? Laughable. People wearing mask but also no xenophobia. Place is buzzing. Im currently in Istanbul. Lira is weak so things are much cheaper than 2yrs ago when i was here. Weather is perfect, 25 degrees and sunny daily. Visa here is for 3 months and afterwards I can go to nearby countries that are currently open. Amnesty ending mightve been a blessing in disguise. Also, all the russians that cant go to phuket now seem to be here in Istanbul ahhahaa. 7 2
Popular Post padthaininja
They either have to extend until December 31st Malaysia style or expect the same outcome at Immigration offices come October 31st. No one will believe anything they say again.. I for one, will be waiting until October 31st before making any moves.. I'm not mad at the 1900baht I had to pay, but the 3 trips I had to make to Immigration. Many others made 4 trips, or worse, travel to different Immigration offices which are hours away.

Popular Post Walker88
The article reflects their thinking as of Friday. Given the reality that now folks will wait until 31 October before doing anything as they will assume another extension, the weekend may have the authorities considering just making it 31 December. When it's raised at the Cabinet meeting, they may well change the date and save themselves a lot of late-October hassle. The region is heating up in terms of Covid (Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines), as is much of Europe and North America. If this Second Wave continues as temps cool, the few flights there are will stop and 'stranded' tourists won't have a way out. 31 December looks like a certainty, and 31 March is coming up on the screen.
