So this is the situation. UK citizen, Thai wife and step-daughter , all living in Indonesia.

I have a job in HCMC starting in August.

In order to get there we need to get our marriage certificate and daughter's birth certificate legalised in Thailand (where my daughter was born and where we got married).

I have been told we need to get everything notarised, then legalised by Thai Foreign affairs and then sent to Vietnam embassy in Thailand.

We are stuck in Indonesia.

Can someone help us out?

recommend an agent?

We have all the original documents,  and translated years ago when we moved to Indonesia.

Just got this back

So this is what I can resume

1.They are living in Indonesia and want to move to Vietnam.

2.They need someone who can help to run the process in Thailand.

3. All the origonal documents are with him

The Vietnam Embassy will need tht original to certifile for sure. I will ask about the process with Vietnam Embassy again if we can do anything.

Yes to all of that. We have been told 3 stage process: notarising (which we are trying to do in Indonesia) Legalising : By Thai foreign office in Bangkok and then finally send to Vietnam embassy Bangkok. It would then have to be sent by courier to my employer in HCMC. Complicated or what.....

Thought you deserved an update. Called her this morning to find out what was happening, she said she called the Viet embassy the day I asked her about it. They told her to send an email outlining her request, up to today they have not replied, She will call them again today, hopefully they won't be at lunch or siesta time.
