Bangkok Alternative

Featured Replies

I like Bangkok, and a like all the facilities etc. but sometimes hanker for a quieter life. If you aren't tied to bangkok, where is a nice quiet place to live but within grasp of civilisation if and when needed?

Pakchong

Soi 6, Pattaya.

Personally I like the North. If you need some semblance of civilization you might need to look into places close to Chiang Mai. I live far outside of Chiang Rai but you would probably find it too remote. Chiang Mai isn't what it used to be but nature is easily accessible and there are places to shop and some very good restaurants at half the price of BKK.

Chiang Mai is still a much better place than BKK.

Soi 6, Pattaya.

Jackmuu is moving from Soi Nana or Soi Cowboy or Patpong to Soi 6, Pattaya. :o

Chiang Mai gets my vote also, and your only an hour away from Bangkok by plane (two if you include check-in, two and a half to three if you include Taxi from airport, sod it stay in Bangkok :D )

Out of Bangkok near the freeway....Nonthaburi, Rangsit, Bangna (going to Chomburi)..

Chiang Mai gets my vote. If you ever went to BKK 20 or more years ago, as I did, Chiang Mai is now that place but with internet, UBC, good restaurants, etc.

Phuket with any doubt !

Hua Hin or Chiang Mai for me.
