Cyberstar
Effective from 15. March, immigration only issues Certificate of Residency if you are on a one-year extension. Otherwise you're referred to embassy/consulate. So the posting I saw on their desk today said.
jimmym40
I can confirm that info about having to go to your embassy to get the letter of residency. I know, doesn't make sense, but does anything here make sense???

expatwannabe
If you're talking about getting a letter of residency from the U.S. Consulate, I've done that. Email them for an affidavit of residency and they'll send it to you so you can fill it out ahead of time. In CM, it's [email protected]. Fill out the form and state what the purpose is i.e., "to certify my residence for the purpose of obtaining a Non-Imm B extension," or whatever. Provide the form, your passport, and about 1,140 Baht. They'll ask you to swear that the information you provided is accurate. That's it. Edited June 8, 2007 by expatwannabe
