Agriculture Minister Denies Swine Fever Cover-up

BANGKOK, Jan 12 (TNA) – Officials did not try to cover up the epidemic of the African swine fever (ASF) and the Department of Livestock Development had seriously tried to prevent it since its outbreak in China in 2018, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chalermchai Sri-on said.

Thai cabinet endorses bill to oversee media ethics, standards

The Thai cabinet approved a draft bill on Tuesday which seeks to create a council for the media profession, similar to the Lawyers Council of Thailand, to regulate and promote the ethics and standards of Thai media professionals and to protect the rights, liberties and independence of the media, in accordance with Section 35 of the Constitution.

Cabinet approves Air Force’s planned purchase of 4 fighter jets

Thailand’s cabinet yesterday (Tuesday) endorsed the Royal Thai Air Force’s (RTAF) plan to buy four fighter jets, at an estimated cost of 13.8 billion baht, to replace its fleet of aging F-16 Falcon jets, which have been in service for about four decades.

Thai court extends bail for protest leader Rung Panusaya

The Bangkok South Criminal Court decided to extend bail this afternoon (Wednesday) for Panusaya “Rung” Sithijirawattanakul, a key leader of the anti-establishment Ratsadon protest group, until May 25th, and eased restrictions on her movements as well.
