The Appeals Court upheld the Criminal Court’s one-year prison sentence, without suspension, yesterday (Tuesday), which was imposed on political activist Ekachai Hongkangwan for relating his sexual experiences while in prison on his Facebook page.

 

The 47-year-old political activist was convicted of violating the Computer Crime Act by disseminating obscene material.

 

After his conviction, Ekachai’s relatives applied for bail, pending an appeal to the Supreme Court.

Heaven forbid someone publicly discusses the lack of purity within society. And sex. You can't actually talk about sex.

 

Lock him up. He is making us look bad. Maintain the facade, at all costs! And since he an opposition figure, it makes it easier on the weak and morally bent court system here.

Like prostitution in Thailand there is no sex in Thai prisons.

If I had got bung holed while in prison I don't think I would put it on Facebook...

Yes, that would make you lose "Face"-book.

he did not expose details of his sex life, but denounced sexual abuse he witnessed in prison when serving some 4 years for lese majeste charges (selling dvd copies of  an australian television documentary).

That was just one sentence he wrote.

He has another lese majeste charge hanging over for threatening queen - he was spotted in a crowd of protesters through which queen decided to drive unannounced and unguarded (that incident was used by Prayuth to introduce special emergency law in all bangkok, which lasted for a week, this law only escalated scale of street protests)
