BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) – Newly elected Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt said he would quickly discuss an end to the face mask mandate and the extended opening hours of pubs, bars and public parks for the economic sake.

 

Mr Chadchart made his stance clear as Phuket provincial authorities conditionally lifted requirement for people to wear face masks.

 

The Bangkok governor said the decision in Phuket was interesting and Bangkok and Phuket had similar contexts.

Phuket and Bangkok are similar to Pattaya and most other place In Thailand. Just do it and push for all to follow suit. This is getting ridiculous. 

This is the first decent(ish) politician to make the news pages in some time 

 

There is a lot of optimism surrounding him despite the usual obstacles he faces.

 

Health officials have never had such a time in the limelight and don't want to be booted back to their boring office jobs. But their time is nearing an end.

Good luck to him too. Sadly Phuket governor(s) were forced to reverse the decision to go virtually mask free outdoors yesterday, after just one day. Oh dear ????
