Indonesia MP slams 'low quality' Thai rice

The Indonesian government had been urged to stop importing Thai rice unloaded at the ports of Tanjung Intan in Cilacap, and Tanjung Emas in Semarang, because of their bad quality, according to official Antara News Agency.

"The result of monitoring shows that around 14,000 tons of imported Thai rice were of very low quality. And it was planned that 120,000 tons of the imported Thai rice will enter Central Java province, which include 20 percent of broken rice," a member of the Central Java Legislative Assembly's Commission B, Fatria Rahmadi, said here on Monday.
