Buying Quality Luggage

Featured Replies

Does anyone know a good place to buy first-quality luggage at a reasonable price? I know there are lots of cheap market stalls selling knock-offs, and some apparently pricey luggage shops at the shopping plazas. Has anyone found a good combination of quality and price? Air Asia ripped the handle off my last one pronto, so I'm looking for something that won't collapse in fear at the first sight of a baggage handler with a grudge.

Thanks.

Central and Robinsons sell the genuine brand name luggage. I bought a Samsonite "Worldproof" suitcase at Robinsons on Ratchada last year. It is almost big enough to stuff my GF inside. Cost almost 8000 baht, which is expensive from one point of view, but a decent price when you really consider the amount of abuse it can take, and the value of the stuff it carries whenever we go somewhere.

Just happened to pop into Big-C and saw some nice luggages on the ground floor. They even had Samsonites for sale. Right in front of KFC. Seems like genuine stuff. Go check it out if you can.

I bought Samsonite 4 years back, and it taken a few knocks but its extremely hardwearing.

Im glad I did buy a hard case as apposed to something fabric, have you ever seen those handlers toss baggage around?

Im sure they couldnt care less whether anything gets broken, as they do it day in day out.
