PM Srettha Prepares for First Mobile Cabinet Meeting in Nong Bua Lamphu

BANGKOK (NNT) - The government is gearing up for its first mobile cabinet meeting of 2023 in the Northeastern province of Nong Bua Lamphu.

 

Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke stated that Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin is set to travel to the province for an official inspection and to attend the first off-site Cabinet meeting of this year. The meeting will take place on December 3rd and 4th.

 

On Sunday, December 3rd, around 2PM, the Prime Minister will monitor issues related to drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation through community-based treatment (CBTx) methods in Na Klang district. After that, the Prime Minister is scheduled to pay respect to the city shrine and the Monument of Thai National Defense Volunteers located in front of the Suwannakhuha District Office.

 

In the evening, Prime Minister Srettha will participate in a football match with the youth team Hero Suwannakhuha at a local school in Suwannakhuha district. After the match, the Prime Minister will visit and engage in local traditional activities and dine on regional cuisine at Wat Suwannaram.

 

Government Spokesperson Chai further stated that on the following day, Monday, December 4th, at 9AM, the premier will preside over the formal off-site Cabinet meeting at a local hotel in the capital district. Following the meeting, the Prime Minister and his delegation will observe traditional mixed farming practices in Si Bun Rueang district.

 

Subsequently, the Prime Minister will continue his visit to a local community market, exploring the local lifestyle. He will collect feedback on initiatives aimed at reducing chemical usage in agriculture, and promoting large-scale farming by young smart farmers. Prime Minister Srettha will also engage in a discussion on elevating and enhancing local handwoven textiles. These initiatives are part of the government’s policy to strengthen Thailand’s ’soft power.

Nong Bua Lamphu - what an excellent choice! 

I am sure that the uncles and grannies of this province, lost between Loei and Udon Thani, will be more than delighted over the opportunity to share their 15 minutes of fame. Imagine hotels, restaurants and venue operators going all into overdrive; maybe not in service level but certainly in billing abilities ;-)
