Thanks for the suggestion. My Immigration office is Chaeng Wattana. I arrive in Thailand at the beginning of November and leave again at the beginning of February, about a week before my current extension expires on 11 February. That means I probably won't know Immigration's final position until I actually apply for my next extension, around 11 or 12 January. If they refuse the switch and I then do a border bounce, re-enter visa exempt and apply for a new Non-O, I would only be able to apply for a one-year extension about two months later. By then I will already have left Thailand. So, if it comes to that, Plan B would probably be to wait until my next stay in Thailand in November 2027 and start a completely new Non-O/extension cycle then. Hopefully it won't come to that.
