A 27-year-old tutor known as Teacher Toi, whose real name is Papawadee, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding parents in Nakhon Sawan province. The arrest was led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Yongyuth Kulthorn from the Phayao Provincial Investigation Division, following an operation at 7 p.m. on November 26. The arrest was made based on a warrant from the Nakhon Sawan District Court.

Papawadee, who formerly worked as a language assistant at a school in Nakhon Sawan, was caught in a car park in Mae Ka, Phayao province. She was wanted on three separate arrest warrants for fraud.

Over 20 parents reported to the Nong Pling Police Station, accusing Papawadee of scamming 38 parents out of more than 400,000 baht. She allegedly created a social media page promising private tutoring classes for primary school children. After parents paid for these classes, Papawadee disappeared with their money.

The police in Phayao province tracked her down after being alerted about her outstanding warrants, leading to her capture and transfer to Nong Pling Police Station in Nakhon Sawan for further legal action.

The incident underscores a troubling trend of scams conducted through social media, a growing concern for authorities. Although relieved by the arrest, the local community remains wary of online transactions, particularly those involving substantial sums of money.

Authorities urge the public to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of online services before making any financial commitments. They stress the importance of vigilant due diligence to prevent falling victim to such scams.

A school is for educate people... All after school activities by teachers should be forbidden..After regular lessons, many children have special classes, even in the weekends and in the holidays.. parents pay for these classes and the kids are being learned nothing but because of the payment the kids have special treatments and grades...I know from several schools and parents.. in reality it seems more that they do their homework than learn, but the kids in fact who really need extra classes, often from poorer families will get behind further and further as they can't afford the lessons or are living to far from the school
