FBI employees in Washington, DC, are under urgent orders to locate any records related to Amelia Earhart, following a directive from US President Donald Trump. A law enforcement source disclosed that on Tuesday, employees received a high-priority message urging them to search their workstations and digital media. Records linked to Earhart's mysterious disappearance must be found promptly, as the order coincides with the ongoing government shutdown.

Amelia Earhart famously vanished in 1937 over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to be the first woman to fly around the world. Declared lost at sea after a 16-day search, her disappearance remains a source of intrigue. Last month, Trump promised to declassify and release all related government records, aiming to uncover the events surrounding her final journey.

Employees at the FBI's Washington Field Office must respond by Wednesday, as ordered by the Executive Office of the President. This directive is not the first of its kind by Trump, who has previously called for declassification of documents related to celebrities such as President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. Earhart remains a figure of public fascination due to her record-breaking achievements and mysterious disappearance.

Experts and historians are closely watching this development, as any newly uncovered records could offer fresh insights into the mystery. While many theories exist about Earhart's fate, the US government initially suspected a crash due to fuel exhaustion. The declassification of records may challenge or confirm longstanding beliefs.

Key Takeaways:

  • FBI employees were ordered to search for Amelia Earhart records immediately.
  • Trump aims to declassify all government records related to her disappearance.
  • Earhart's disappearance in 1937 has led to many conspiracy theories.

Amelia Earhart would be 128 years old now.

Will finding any wreckage bring her back to life again?

She disappeared in 1937, some 88 years ago and the majority of the world has either forgotten her or never even knew about her in the first place.

Yet Trump has started yet another pointless diversion away from the Epstein files.

So what?oh yea I forgot trumps so old he has a personal memory of the incident….we are more interested in recent events like those Epstein files…

Trump doesn't have a personal memory of anything what happened more than 2 days ago.

Ultimately, indeed, it is believed that the disappearance is caused by running out of fuel over the Pacific.

However, late research is now more of the opinion that a navigational error has caused the plane to miss the intended arrival on Howland Island for a refueling stop. The latest I read on this "disappearance" is that the navigator Fred Noonan, made a navigational error. This caused the plane to veer of course missed this tiny island and was running out of fuel.

The reconstruction of the navigation points to the navigator forgot that the dateline was passed.

Navigation those days in desolated places was done by star observations. Some corrections have to be made to the observations to calculate the coordinates. These corrections are in big tables, that depend on time and day. If you forgot to have passed the dateline, Fred could have used the correction factors for the wrong day; this will make a navigational deviation, thus missing this tiny island.

No GPS, VOR and Radio nav in those days out there in the Pacific and they were sadly lost.

That should cause much less discomfort to the president and figures close to him than releasing the Epstein records that - I'd daresay - most people would be a lot more interested in seeing released.

I follow the Amelia Earhart story.  The latest understanding is as follows.

The consensus among aviation historians is that the combined failure of both navigation and radio communication sealed the fate of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan. The issues regarding a navigational error and a failed pre-arranged communication plan are both strongly supported by the evidence and the historical log.

The long flight leg from Lae, New Guinea, to the tiny, remote Howland Island was a monumental navigational challenge that relied on three things working perfectly: celestial navigation, dead reckoning, and radio direction finding. All three were compromised.

Fred Noonan's Navigational Error

The theory that Fred Noonan made a navigational error is a leading explanation for why the crew failed to find Howland Island, which is only 3 km long and 1.6 km wide (a very small target in the vast Pacific).

  • Celestial Navigation Difficulty: Noonan's primary method was celestial navigation (using sightings of the sun, moon, and stars). This was severely hampered because clouds and overcast skies persisted during critical portions of the flight, preventing him from taking the precise sightings he needed to fix their position.

  • The International Date Line Theory: A significant navigational error theory suggests Noonan failed to account for the International Date Line in his calculations. The flight crossed the date line from west to east, requiring him to turn the calendar back a day. Failing to do so would have caused an error of approximately 60 nautical miles (111 km) to the west of their intended position, which would have been enough to place them outside the visual range of Howland Island.

Despite being a highly regarded navigator, the difficulty of the task, combined with the poor weather, meant his celestial readings could only provide a line of position (a "sun line") but not a precise "fix" on their location.

The Communication Plan Failure

The pre-arranged plan with the US Coast Guard cutter, USCGC Itasca, which was moored off Howland Island, was their crucial backup. It was supposed to provide a radio beacon that Earhart could home in on once they were close. The arrangement spectacularly failed due to a host of technical and human errors:

1. Inability to use Morse Code

  • The Flaw: The most critical failure was that neither Amelia Earhart nor Fred Noonan was proficient in Morse code (Continuous Wave or CW).

  • The Consequence: The Itasca was equipped with powerful, long-range radio direction-finding equipment that operated best on the 500-kilocycle marine frequency, which required Morse code. The Itasca crew also struggled to transmit voice messages on Earhart's voice frequencies. Since Earhart could transmit voice, but the Itasca could only reliably transmit in code, they could not have a two-way voice conversation about bearings or signal strength, which was essential for a precise approach.

2. Equipment Issues on the Aircraft

  • Missing Antenna: Before the final leg, Earhart removed the long trailing wire antenna from the plane to save weight. This antenna was necessary for efficient transmission and reception on the low-frequency channels (like 500 KHz) that the Itasca was best equipped to use for radio direction finding. By removing it, Earhart severely limited the plane's ability to communicate over long distances and made it almost impossible for the Itasca to get a proper bearing on her.

  • Impaired Reception: It is also strongly suspected that the plane's small receiving belly antenna was damaged or stripped off during the takeoff from the rough runway in Lae, New Guinea. This would explain why Earhart could transmit and be heard clearly by the Itasca (at one point reporting a strong signal), but could not hear the Itasca's critical reply messages.

3. Confusion Over Timing

  • Time Zone Mix-up: An additional factor was confusion over time. Earhart was operating on Greenwich Civil Time (GCT), but the Itasca was operating on Navy time. Critically, the Itasca was using the half-hour for their radio schedules, which caused the two parties to miss each other's broadcast windows at the most vital moments.

In her final transmissions, Earhart stated, "We must be on you but cannot see you," and pleaded, "We received your signals but unable to get a minimum. Please take bearing on us..." This clearly indicates that Noonan's navigation had brought them close to the destination line, but the communication failure prevented the Itasca from giving them the precise heading (the "minimum") they needed to find the tiny island, which ultimately led to the plane running out of fuel.

Eventually.

Many very clever analyses of the circumstances have narrowed down the likely remaining search area.  The task is very difficult because the pilot planned in advance how not to be found.

Trump Orders FBI Search for Amelia Earhart Records .

Why bother  ,can't bring her back to life ,Leave it be.

This is so much water under the bridge that it's simply irrelevant.  It's beating a dead horse.

Asking people who you have forced to work for free due to their salaries not being paid. A great diversion from the Epstein Papers.

Doesn't this reek of that dreaded social malady, Wokeness?

Women aren't supposed to be things like airplane pilots and soldiers, right Pete?

Well, at least she wasn't a beard-o.

There was a sci-fi novel some years ago where it predicted that it would be revealed that Elvis was another incarnation of Jesus.  I've been anticipating one of these US Christian types to pick up on it.

Another stunt that just might come to pass is "ancient scrolls" are discovered that predict, Nostradamus-like, the coming of DT and the wonderous transformations he will bring.
