Hegseth Fires US Army Chief Of Staff During A War

Featured Replies

So Pete has just fired the US Army Chief Of Staff as well as a couple of other Generals, and if you wanted a clearer sign of the desperation felt by the Trump administration as they're losing this war, I don't know what that could be.

This move paves the way for Pete's pet general vice chief LaNeve to take over, which probably allows for Pete's illegal orders to be carried out unopposed.

The silver lining is that the burden of proof carried by the prosecution during upcoming war crimes tribunals won't be much of a burden at all.thumbsup

'Hegseth ousts US Army chief of staff and two other generals amid Iran war'

https://edition.cnn.com/2026/04/02/politics/hegseth-removes-randy-george-army-chief-of-staff

"Senior Army leadership was caught off guard by Thursday’s abrupt announcement, the US official told CNN — learning of George’s forced departure along with the rest of the Defense Department, when it was announced publicly. As the Army chief, George has worked closely with Army Secretary Dan Driscoll — a senior official close to the White House whom Hegseth has perceived as a threat and at times had a contentious relationship with.

The abrupt and public nature of George’s immediate retirement, the first US official said, left little room for officials to argue against removing one of the joint chiefs amid ongoing conflict with Iran — particularly as the Army, under George, is deploying forces and is primarily responsible for providing crucial integrated air and missile defense capabilities to the joint force."

In Pete's defence, he probably saw a bus coming so he had to do something.

The Germans did it 3x in WW1 and kept the war going for 4 years, only losing because we became involved. Carry on, let it out, it will make you feel better. Trump sneezed, start a topic.

An old adage in business is 'A' grade managers hire 'A' grade people. 'B' grade managers hire 'C' grade people, because they don't want their subordinates to make them look bad.

In this case, a 'D' grade president has hired 'E' grade cabinet members, who are forced to hire 'F' grade subordinates. (And I'm being generous when awarding those grades).

"The Germans did it 3x in WW1 and kept the war going for 4 years...."

The Imperial German Army wasn't led by this clown:

"Trump sneezed, start a topic."

If Trump sneezes he fills his depends. That's hardly newsworthy.
