True Confusion

Hi,

I have a 300 Baht True subscription with Thai channels. Now True is offering three packages for Premiership access: Daily, monthly, and for the whole season.

The problem with daily and monthly is that they dont show all matches. Only some, and none of the "big" ones. Which is kinda silly unless you are a fan of one of the bottom PL teams

I talked to True customer support in BKK and they told me that the season package would include all PL games - that would be perfect for me as I am not interested in any of their other programming, don't watch movies on TV etc.

But the local guy in the store told me he's absolutely 100% sure that the season pass also doesn't include all games. He's insistent that they show the same games as the monthly and daily packages which are published by True every month.

Can anyone confirm this either way? Does the season pass package include all games? Are there two different season pass packages?

The latter because the guy on the phone said it's ~3500 baht for the season pass + in the store it was 2200. Quite a difference.

I have the full blown platinum package and I can confirm they do not show all matches live.

Despite them advertising that they will show all 380 matches live.

Add to this when I sat down to watch F1 qualifying today @ 5pm, there was a golf program.

As soon as I move to the new house I will drop IBC/UBC/True Visions (come back UTV all is forgiven) and learn to like Afrikaans accents.

Anyone use True PPV? I 've been suckered into the Gold package for now but kinda hate to pay for all that crappy programming outside the EPL.

Myself have Jsat.tv... I get every Satelites there is over Thailand....... Yesterday watched LIVE F1 + Formula BMW + World Touring Cars + World Rally Cars + Manchester United

I have both the C & Ku band 'Move' satellite dish, it was a one time only payment that is now 4 years ago.. I did buy a new Set top box last year which is internet connected.

It did take 6 months of research and many visit to different Companies, but this set up was the best and only one I wanted.

Where did you get Man U game? AFAIK no one broadcasts it for free. It's on satellites, true, but encrypted and you have to have a subscription.

Jsat's own website doesn't offer any free Premier League football.

In terms of programming UBC beats African Multichoice hands down, it has three times more channels, I think, and you also can't blame satellite companies for regional content of HBO, Cinemax, Cartoon Networks and the rest. Do you think Malaysians get different cartoons?

Chinese have probably some pirated free to air channels but I doubt they provide English commentary.

Australian channels are not free either.

I looked at jsat for a while, weighing pros and cons, and settled on p2p programs. Poor quality but watchable AND free (I have AF fan club hogging UBC for the past few months, no football).

In a couple of years the quality would probably equal that of UBC.
