Does anyone know why sometimes my computer won't turn on and has a box saying overfrequency in the middle of a black screen? It happens about once in 15 times turning it on. Restart doesn't work, I actually have to unplug both cords from the wall then restart to work. I gather it has something to do with the frequency of the screen because if I don't unplug the screen and restart, it's still overfrequency. How can I fix it?

Thanks.

Your monitor can not cope with the frequency of the graphics card.

Start the PC and press F5 to start in safe mode then adjust your display size and frequency and restart.

Thanks for that. I've tried starting in safe mode and changing things a few times but not sure exactly what to adjust and how much to adjust it to. Any further thoughts??

After you start in Safe Mode, got to the Graphic settings (right click on free space on Desktop and choose Properties) Chage the size to display to 800 x 600 and 16 Bit and the settings for the Monitor to 60 Hz. Restart the computer.

If the computer starts normal with the new settings, adjust one by one the settings to your Requirement and within tha Range of Card and Monitor. If the Monitor goes black, just hit the ESC Key and he should go back to the last used settings. "Play" with the settings until you're OK!
