N47HAN
So I have 850k approved with a 10% dep from krungthai bank. The car will be semi used by a member of staff during the day for getting to meetings etc. And by me at night / weekends(quite like my pre-runner to be fair but havent drove a car in years!) Do I buy new toyota vios /city etc...... Or maybe a higher spec car a year or 3 old?
LeungKen
Honda "Jazz" - Top Little Car ........but that's for me & my taste, fuel efficiency, etc
thai4u
If it was my choice: regular car: VIOS. Pick-up(only if you really need because its much less comftable then a regular car)-max/VIGO *if you choose vigo wait 2-3 months if you can as toyota will release new model/shape for the vigo. The best value is 2-3 years old car with history-record of the car. (can save you at least 150K-300K depand on the model you choose).
torrenova
I'd buy a new vios / city I think. Might be in that market myself soon.
ThaiPauly
Honda "Jazz" - Top Little Car ........but that's for me & my taste, fuel efficiency, etc We were very happy with the Jazz we had, lovely little runner, very economical, test drove a new Vios and thought the Jazz was better personally. My Wife cried when we sold it TP

Can someone please explain the logic behind the Thai mentality that an old car at a price less than new list, is a saving ? It is not, it is because one is new and one is second hand / used / soiled etc.

For that money i'm assuming it was the J model. I rented one for a month recently and thought it was pretty good. The only thing that let it down was lack of central locking (i was amazed - thought all new cars had that by now) and the small wheels with cheap plastic wheel covers. Anyway, if you got them to throw in the central locking you are halfway there - just invest in a decent set of alloys and you've got a decent car. For me the Jazz is just too much of a woman's car. Ausladyinpatong
My husband has a beautifully maintained Volvo and we live here in Phuket. PM me if you'd like his number. It looks great and he's always been complimented on it.

Had a call from them yesteday , salesman said they need more money ??????????????? Anyway off i went and the salesman said they needed an extra 10 k! ?? ( 1k on the deposit the rest over the loan) Why I asked? Reply, made mistake sorry ! Promptly said , well i dont want it then , ill cancell my cheques and im off to Honda! lots of scurrying around to the office and back of course. In the end they said they had to put the price up 10k for head office , however I may choose some other extras. After around half an hour they eventually agreed to add a rear spoiler (list 7,500THB) and remote locking/alarm (list around 10k if i remeber right). So kinda glad they called back really , yes its now cost an extra 10 k but got 17,500 of extras ,so not all bad.
