Fortuner 3.0 D4d Performance Chip

It's actually pretty simple;

More air and more fuel equals more power. Diesel or gasoline engines are basically the same. To burn the extra fuel you need a turbo charger or a supercharger to pump extra air into the cylinders. A turbocharger runs off the the exhaust gases so it is basically free. Superchargers are normally belt driven so it takes more power to run that air compressor. You'll rarely see a really fast drag car that doesn't have a big supercharger.

Mike, I have a Triton 3.2 also, could you post the info here on the board, please? There may be other triton owners interested in the upgrade. Thanks.

Is there also a chip available for the Triton 2.5 Litre? Asking on behalf of my brother-in-law:)

there is, works well on the 2,5 power and torque is almost equal to the 3.2 standard power,.

Hi

Then i am glad you never worked on my car back in Europe. :D

showing his ignorance for sure,. the one i sell dosent increase turbo boost and 31 bhp is acheived over standard,.

:D

Where does the extra power come from then?

To increase the engine's power as standard the airflow (in the case of a turbo diesel = turbo boost) to the engine and fuel injection must be increased which is what these chips do by modifying the ECU settings.

It is the only possible way to achieve gains of around 30BHP with the standard turbo setup.

The chip changes the optimum settings from the factory to achieve as much power as possible while still retaining an element of reliability. In turbo diesels you will see gains because of the turbo but be wary of boy racers that claim gains on standard petrol engines with just a modchip added. The whole point here is that the turbo of the diesel engine is the element that allows those large gains.

As I said you can only pish with the c0ck you've got.

You are defending and selling something you don't even understand properly.

so, i suggest you contact hks in bangkok and tell them all that money invested in a rolling road to prove to people what the difference is that they wasted their money, ,sorry buddy you are talking a load of <deleted>, email me for the german maufacturers email address and you can advise them where they are going wrong :o ill say it again, boost is unchanged ,.

Hi guys,

I have a Fortuner 2005 model 3.0 D4D turbo diesel. I am considering to install a Diesel Power Chip which improves performance, torque & economy.

Sofar I gave two options, with some differances in price etc. One is a european product the other made in Aussie.

- A Ptronic - http://www.p-tronic.co.uk/?cfC0A8002D=1DE6...nnMsCjfhaCoHzo=

- A DPchip - http://www.dpchip.com

The suppliers in Europe have requested a photo of the plug on the injector. Unfortunately I am working is Saudi and cannot take a pic. Anyone with a with Fortuner can help me out here?

As anyone of you tried these performance chips for the Diesel?

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Im afraid this will be my last comment on this subject through the forum as there are some idiots that just want a fight, and unless its face to face i wont retaliate..if interested in a unit for any of the late commonrail diesel engines please pm me for individual/details increases you can expect, we sold 375 units last year, expecting to double that this year ,.

Here's another post on Thai Visa from another person who seems to actually know what he's talking about.

"Their is no chip replacement or remap possible on the vigo.

So it's piggy back and with this the ecu see some number coming back from the different sensor like:

MAP, MAF.... and going out to the injection pump, Boost freqency valve control.... that are twicked down or up depending on what the tuner want's to make think the ecu to get what he want's.

This shiting trick will make the ecu advance the timing give more pressure to the injection and add some boost.

But in fact the ecu never see any higher value than OEM. If it would see more it would put the car in limp mode ( no boost and very poor injection)."

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=912241

and here is another of his posts, this company use the same german information, the address is there for you to ask about turbo boost increase," I have a D commander D3000 paid 25000 baht for it in BKK"

Don't believe the hype. Gains of 25BHP usually cannot be achieved with just a chip alone. Especially so when the engine being chipped is only pumping out a mediocre 170BHP when stock.

Combined with several other mods, such as uprated exhaust etc, then that is a realistic estimate.

With piggyback ECUs I'd be sceptical of such claims.

More likely you are getting a little noticable extra (5-7BHP).

Little knowledge is dangerous my friend,. we get a 31 bhp increase from the fortuner, i have charts done by hks to prove it,. the 3.0d4d is very under fueled /tuned engine and responds the best of all the diesels to the unit,.i have customers all over thailand that have bought and can supply a referance to interested parties,.

HI

My chart say 28HP so very close.

Put in a k/n type filter and you will get the other 3 bhp :o

Yep...and those little blue lights in the windshield washer outlets add 2-5%, depending upon application.
