Hello,i get the impression that things may have gotten a little more relaxed for getting tourist visas in vientienne,or maybe its just that people are just taking a gamble on getting x2 tr visas, whereas before they doubted that it was possible,or available.

My girlfreinds non immigrant student visa expires in 2.5 months,& shes already been told that she can get another no problem.

As far as myself go's do you think that its likely that i could get a years worth of back to back visas & extensions? (after getting 3 already,2 in laos, one penang)

Ive heard in Penang, that you can get 3 tr's & then you have to go elsewhere for 3.

At the moment i'm thinking stay here or go to india???

Thanks

Are multiple tourist visas any easier to get for India????

Depends on your nationality and where you apply. I have a ten-year multi-entry tourist visa for India that allows a six month stay upon each entry.

Have you actually been to India? I have concluded that there are only two types of people, those who love India and those who hate it. I have been there, was planning 12 days but after 2 days was desperate to change my travel arrangements and get back to the LOS. Mannaged to change my flight and was happily back after 8 days. I tell you I would have to have a very good reason to go there again, and I don't think I will have one for a very very long time. It was the worst country I have ever visited, even Cambodia is fantastic in comparison to India (for me). Many people complain about this and that on this forum and of course about the visa situation and yet I have seen very few people actually leaving the LOS. For me, longer I stay here more I love this place.

So I would recommend anyone contemplating moving to India to visit that place first and see how you feel there. As for me, no thanks!

For the millions of people who DO enjoy India, it would seem the lure of being sorted for 10 years is a very attractive option as opposed to the various and not always so desireable methods that are utilized for staying in Thailand.

What do you need to get a ten year tourist visa? Also can you stay for ten years? I mean if I do a 6 month visa run will they let me back in thailand the same day, like the 1 year business visa?

Can you please provide more information on the ten year tourist visa...

Well, after receiving my fourth consecutive tr visa (the last 2 in penang),ive been given the read stamp "dont apply in penang again",so it looks like the decision to leave has been made for me,but its kind of fair enough,& i felt lucky to get another.

I want to stay in asia, but without the apprehension,& worry of not knowing whats in store for me with the visas.

its true and a lot of india is just plain disgusting, polluted and unsanitary but there are some nice pockets here and there depending on your preferences.

I would pick Costa Rica, Argentina, Uruguay, Phillipines, Yunnan China, Malaysia before India. In a lot of places in India however they do have decent internet speed.
