Pilots

Two men dressed in Pilots' uniforms walk up the aisle of the plane. Both are wearing dark glasses, one is using a guide dog, and the other is tapping his way along the aisle with a cane.

Nervous laughter spreads through the cabin, but the men enter the cockpit; the door closes, and the engines start up.

The passengers begin glancing nervously around, searching for some sign that this is just a little practical joke.

None is forthcoming.

The plane moves faster and faster down the runway and the people sitting in the window seats realise they're headed straight for the water at the edge of the airport.

As it begins to look as though the plane will plough into the water, panicked screams fill the cabin.

At that moment, the plane lifts smoothly into the air. The passengers relax and laugh a little sheepishly, and soon all retreat into their magazines, secure in the knowledge that the plane is in good hands.

In the cockpit, one of the blind pilots turns to the other and says, 'You know, Bob, one of these days, they're gonna scream too late and we're all gonna bloody die.'

At least the passengers got into the air ... better than what happened at Buenos Aires airport yesterday - passengers trashed the airport when their frustration erupted over the baggage handlers and ticket counter staff strike.

Frustrated passengers smashed ticket counters and threw objects at airline staff at Argentina's main airport on Saturday after the country's flagship airline canceled international flights for a second day.

Television images showed damaged ticket counters and broken glass in the main hall of the Aerolineas Argentinas terminal, where passengers angry at delays caused by a baggage handlers strike and a walkout by ticket counter workers shouted down an Aerolineas Argentinas employee and threw objects at him.

The strike for higher wages had sparked delays at the airport in a Buenos Aires suburb since Friday. Several thousand passengers were stranded when Aerolineas Argentinas canceled its flights abroad, according to local media. Phone calls to the airline and airport company went unanswered on Saturday.

"There's no one from the company, no one is showing their face or telling us when we're going to fly. We're stranded with children and the elderly," a woman whose flight to Venezuela was canceled on Friday told local TV.

Things aren't looking much better for budget carrier Tiger Airways either - As Tiger Airways begins flying to Hobart today, it has been stung by a report of 200 international passengers stranded overnight in Perth.

Tiger Airways Singapore postponed its scheduled flight from Perth to Singapore on Saturday night because the captain became concerned about his crew working overtime, according to a News Limited report.

Angry passengers were informed of the flight cancellation at 10.30pm, three hours after its scheduled departure, the report said.

The no-frills carrier had cancelled 10 flights due to crew shortages and illness since its November 23 domestic launch, News Limited said.

Despite the hiccup, Tiger remained upbeat about the launch of its Hobart service, claiming the southern city as the latest to join the low fare revolution sweeping Australia.

Hobart was its 10th destination and more than 100,000 people had already flown with the airline, it said. — Travelpress travel news.

I would like to - but it's not Thailand related - but it fitted nicely on the end of your Pilots joke - hope you didn't mind.
