Low Flying Planes

Is it just me or are the planes coming in and taking off lower to CMX? I live on Niminhamen on the top of a condo directly under the flight path. Now the military jets are obviously playing chicken and seeing who can get closest to the aerial on the roof. Thats fair enough as the last time they were called into action would of been,,,,,,, well actually the last time the planes were called into duty were when America owned them during the vietnam war. What alot of noise for something that seems to be going slightly faster than a Mcdonalds delivery rider.

Its the smaller commercial ones that scare me. They come into land over Nimanhamen and really do seem to be getting lower and lower in there decent. When you wake up with the bed shakeing , you either got lucky lastnight or that plane was far too low?

Now this is not a complaint. It is an observation and a question, so all those smart <deleted> who seem to revel in saying things like" move out" or " "get some ear plugs" Zip it! not interested. Yesh you know who you are!

I'm getting lower and lower, but try as I might I can't get in there decent :o It's just you! No they are not getting their descent any lower as they have to maintain a set "glide path" or they would undershoot the runway.....

Smaller aircraft can take a multitude of glide paths. If they start their final approach further out then they would be on a shallower approach, and hence would be lower over the condo.

When I was learning to fly we had to cross a major road in Cornwall when landing, several hundred yards before the runway threshold, and used to see how low we could cross it to wave at all the holidaymakers stuck in traffic.

Having said that can't see any reason for it happening consistently.

It would depend on their "rate of descent" if they were above the recommended glide path the tower would instruct them to increase the rate of descent. Alternatively if they were too low over a condo they would get their arse kicked. No matter what glide path they were on at the position of the OP's condo block they have only a margin of a couple of hundred feet either way for correction as it's close to the end of the runway. The bush strips that I used to fly into didn't have the luxury of towers, so it was all very much by feel.

I live on the flight path as well and have not noticed anything out of the ordinary......

Perhaps your building is rising.

Just another inane post.

BTW, what is yesh supposed to mean?

Yesh is what a person with a fat lip (from a slap) says. You must of had a few in your time?

You're the one saying "Yesh". I haven't had one in the past 30 years.

I wrote the above message about fatlip and blinky not having had it in 30 years and spicys bit. He is a bit worried that you wouldnt be able to work this out.( must think your all thick?) I am new to forums and pasted the wrong bit. I pray that you have not lost any respect for blinky as he quite obviously is held in High regard by his cleak.
