Used 2 30day Tourist Visa, How Much Longer Can I Stay?

Featured Replies

hey,

i'm on my 2nd 30day tourist visa but have recently moved into a new apartment and would like to stay for another few months..

who do i see about extending my visa? i'm in the sukhumvit area..

all help appreciated, thanks..

Tourist visa entry for most nationalities is for 60 days so suspect you are talking about the 30 day stamp you receive on arrival at Immigration? If so you do not extend them more than 7 days and that would require a ticket out. This type of entry is limited to 90 days in a six month period.

If you are here on a tourist visa issued by a consulate and it is a 30 day entry you should be able to obtain one 30 day extension at an Immigration office for 1,900 baht.

wow, thanks for the info.. i never realised that there was a difference..

so i guess i got a 30day stamp (i flew in from laos) .. and can't get it extended for my required time of an extra month or 2?

so would you know what my best option might be now? apply for a 3rd 'proper' visa of 60days with an option to extend? is that at all possible?

You probably should go back to laos and get either a single or double entry tourist visa at the consulate.

As said go to Vientiane and you should be able to obtain a one or two entry tourist visa - stay on each entry is 60 days and can be extended 30 days at an immigration office.

ok,thanks for the info... so i'll hope a quick return flight to vientianne at the end of the month which should get things sorted..

also, my friend is on the last week of his 3rd 30day visa, is it possible for him to go on a visa run too or does he have to leave the country for a few months before returning?

thanks for the quick responses btw guys..

There is no restriction to visa entry so yes he can if you are talking about a Consulate issued visa.
