Sweat Stains On Shirts

i never had this problem before until i came to Thailand

white ugly blotchy sweat stains on my shirts

allover the front and back

not even in the armpit area

the only solution seems to be wearing white shirts

too bad

that leaves out most of my current wardrobe which is not white

anyway white is harder to keep clean

some materials seem less likely to get these stains

but they are of heavier material and hotter to wear

any new ideas or suggestions?

I tend to wear white during the day as I find it a cool color. OH uses 'Breeze' (Thai script looks like USA) - that seems to remove any marks that result from when I perspire. I seem to remember folklore that white distilled vinegar helps remove such stains - but I might have dreamt that.

I'd definitely go with a white undershirt to protect any nice shirts. I had some inexpensive shirts last me through three years of teaching with no underarm stains. Those cheap, white tee shirts with short sleeves can be purchased at any Big C, Lotus or the like for 100 Baht or so. Some guys go for the tank top ones but those don't offer underarm protection. At first you'll feel hot, but you will get used to it after a while, plus you won't be covered in sweat spots when you arrive at work.
