Gd'Day every1,

I am on a 457 visa.

I would be getting married pretty soon and plan to file a dependent spouse visa for my wife.

Now, there is a document/sponsorship letter which I'll have to get from my company, on my companies letterhead, stating that they support my application and they don't have any objection in me getting married etc...

But I don't know the exact wordings to be used in this document.

My company is ready to give such letter but they require the "matter" for that letter.

Does anyone has any idea of what would be the contents of this document.

It would be gr8 if anyone can pass on the proforma of that doco to me or guide me in drafting that letter.

Thanks heaps in advance.

Warm Regards,

Irfan

Thanks mate.

Probably I'll do that tomorrow but I am pretty sure that they'll just provide me with a few words which are essential in that letter.

I was wondering if anyone has written such a kind of letter, he/she would be knowing what all needs to be included.

By googling, I've came across to may ppl who have had such kind of queries but no one has a proforma or such kind of thing for this one.

"You should submit a letter from them confirming they agree to extend their sponsorship obligations to your wife as part of her visa application"

Thats the one I got from another website, but still it wont be enough to compose a full letter.

Anaywasy.

Thanks once again.

What I am having trouble with is that you are not on a permanant visa yourself (the 457 visa being a long term business visa).....As far as I know you can not sponsor your new wife for a dependant spouse visa unless you are a permanant resident or a citizen.

On the application form for the 457 visa you are allowed to add upto 4 extra applicants such as a spouse and kids. There doesnt seem to be a provision for adding a new wife to an existing visa.

That is why I suggested you contact Immigration to find out further...it maybe that you have to make a new application yourself and include your wife as a secondary applicant.

If that is the case then the letter I suggest, would need to be the same as they did for your original application but with something included such as they support your wife as a secondary applicant because it would be beneficial to you and your employment to have a stable home life....

Yeah.

That's what I am thinking.

My company wont need to a new nomination but I'll have to start a new application (in the name of my wife) who'll be my dependent.

She'll have to fill up the form 1066 or start an application online which is equivalent to form 1066.

There must be some place there where in you can determine whether if you are dependent or not.

Nevertheless, I'll call up the immi dept tomorrow and will post the update then.

Currently, my concern was only about that letter. No one would like to play with the immi ppl. They can cancel the application even if the letter is not properly framed as it would be the heaviest document in that file.

Thanks.

If you are getting married in Oz then a certified copy of the Marriage extract will be required for the application...from Dept of Births, deaths and marriages.

If you are getting married O/S then certified copies of any documents that show the marriage has been duly registered.

Once married or if you have a declared de facto, she is automatically your dependant for immigration purposes.

I had written to [email protected] asking for assistance

Below is their reply....

Dear Irfan

Thank you for your email.

The requirements are as follows for lodging dependent family members:

i) Lodge a new visa application using Form 1066. Form 1066 is available

from the Department's website at:

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1066.pdf The cost of the application is

AUD$190.00 and all dependent family members can be included on the same

application. To lodge the application electronically, visit the following

page on the Department's website:

http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/employer-sponsored.htm and choose the

"Application for a secondary visa applicant" under the "Start a new e457

application" heading. Payment for the application can only be made using a

credit card.

If you experience any technical difficulties in lodging the application

electronically, you will have to lodge a manual application either by fax

or by mail. Please refer to the contact details below.

ii) Provide support documents, including:

- Certified copy of the passport biodata page (the page with the photo and

personal information) for each of the dependent family members

- Certified copy of marriage certificate or other evidence of defacto

relationship

- Certified copy of complete unabridged birth certificate for each of the

dependent children

- Certified copy of letter from the sponsoring business agreeing to include

the dependent family members in the existing sponsorship undertakings

part of the visa application. Adults will be required to complete a Chest

X-ray Examination as a minimum. Additional health checks will be required

based on the following circumstances:

- If the applicant intends to undertake any training or study in a

classroom environment he / she will be required to complete a Medical

Examination, as well as the Chest X-ray Examination.

- If the applicant intends to work in Australia in a health care facility

for employment, study or training and will undertake intrusive medical

procedures or is likely to come into contact with blood or other bodily

fluids, he / she will be required to complete Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and

HIV blood tests, as well as the Medical and Chest X-ray Examinations.

Children aged 1-10 years of age will require a Medical Examination only.

Children 11 years and older who will be attending school will need to

complete a Medical Examination, as well as the Chest X-ray Examination.

Please note that all health examinations for visa applicants applying from

outside Australia must be undertaken by Immigration Panel Doctors and

Radiologists who have been appointed by the Australian Government. Any

health examinations not undertaken by an Immigration Panel Doctor or

Radiologist are not acceptable for visa decision making.

Please refer to the Department's website at the following link:

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/health-req...ments/index.htm for further
