dave_boo
I can't wait until the ER-6N goes on sale next year- Already saving up for it! May I be the first to say, on behalf of motorcycle lovers everywhere that this - just like the Suzuki B-King are "butt ugly" ? Monkey see monkey do re Japanese "styling" These stupid looking bikes are not long for this world. You can say it, but those who like it probably aren't going to listen.... I'd actually prefer the Versys, but oh well
BigBikeBKK
But as far as i'm aware sr400 is kick start only.................doh whats that about. Allan Hi thaicbr You are right about the kick start, but it was designed to be very easy to kick over (The designer had a dodgy ankle, apparently). One must remember its been out a few decades now and is supposed to be a retro 'British styled' thumper. I think they are great little bikes (even without the correct paperwork) Dave I'm loving these Yamaha SRs- I had no idea they were so popular here in Thailand. Here are some pics and vids from a really fun rally this weekend where there were TONS of Yamaha SR's: Chonburi Thailand Motorcycle and Sound Rally (Part 1) link Hooked up with the Friend Highway Motorcycle Club to attend a very fun rally in the tiny Chonburi town of Pluak Daeng (literally, Red Termite Village) The Friend Highway Club mostly ride vintage Yamaha SRs. I'd never even heard of this bike until recently, but I'm now a BIG fan of these vintage 400cc single cylinder thumpers! Check 'em out: Cafe Racer style, added chrome and tricked out suspension: Check out these pipes You can tell a lot of these guys get their custom pipes done by one master: Kym Thompson on his Yamaha SR (But can he surf???) Some other remarkable bikes too! A classic 1953 Triumph Beautiful WWII era Harley Davidsons: Wow- who knew there were such amazing motorcycles in Thailand?! Enjoyed a beautiful sunset ride from Nong Ri to Pluak Daeng- Here's the scene upon arrival, let's take a look around- More pictures and videos coming soon! Warm regards from the Land of Smile, Marc and Nong and Little Mir

BigBikeBKK
What does any of the above have to do with bikes of 50,000 baht or less? You can get a very nice Yamaha SR for 50,000 baht or less, though no rego. This one's for sale (the one on the right with the piece of paper) Owner's asking 60,000 Baht, but I'm sure it's negotiable. Ride On!
dave_boo
BigBikeBKK, I really like that Cafe Racer. The modern rear shocks kinda spoil it though. If they had a remote resevoir and were more vintage looking then it would be really flash bike. dotcom, You've been around since 15 March 2004 and you don't know that threads have a way of wandering slightly off topic? sunsamourai
OK, I found it ! Black and swift as hel_l, beautifull and shiny, (almost) new, smooth and secure riding I love it ! I must confess I got a bit lucky : it's still pretty rare to see one second hand, but when I saw it, I knew that was the best my budget could afford me... I just got myself a black Nouvo 'Elegance', for 45000 (including insurance and registration). I added 1500 for a theft insurance. Not yet 3000 Km, 6 months old (2 1/2 in garage) You will recognize me easily on the road : a very happy farang with a wide white smile in a newly sunburnt face ! Just can't get off the roads yet. Happy happy happy ^^ Tnx to everybody for your advices, they got me started on the right tracks. See you soon ^^

sunsamourai
But did it really need to be an automatic?!?!? That's the only thing I'm unhappy about... The good thing being that I can wear nice shoes when going to a meeting, so I can live with it untill I change for a bigger one ^^ ++ ^^
