Janner
My cousin (UK national) this August married an Albanian lady who is still in Albania she has just been granted a 6 month visitor visa and arrives in the UK on 26th October. They intend to return to Albania for a religious ceremony of marriage for both families to attend mid November after this ceremony they wish to live as man and wife in the UK. I believe they did not apply for a settlement visa from the out start because of my cousins wife's job and the time delay in wrapping things up in Albania. She now is in position to return to the UK after this religious marriage ceremony. What is the best option of return to the UK for her? Could she return over here on the current visitor visa which would still be valid and apply for a settlement visa in the UK or is it best to apply in Albania for a settlement visa? If they can apply for a settlement visa in the UK what is the method? I know it is not a Thai specific question but I think the immigration questions still hold water even for a Thai person. Any advice apprechiated, much thanks Janner
vinny
After a valid marriage, she should apply for a spouse visa from Albania. 284(i) prevents visitors from switching to spouse status in the UK.
